if you log into the bit on the main page its passes on details to a third party that isnt good?? can i ask what details, and why? why is there even the box if its a bad thing

so what is it like for new members if they find the site and come on,

because i'm not being funny, but being a new member somewhere and doing all that is a bit of an off put.

guys for all using the IP address it is not going to show the site correctly. The IP address was used as an interim measure while we did the domain name update this has now completed so the IP address is now not going to display correctly.

see now things are getting totally blown out of proportion and confused.

There is no issue with the site. A tiny amount of users have had issues where they are not getting to the new server and for the rest it is fine.

I mentioned above that you could go to an annonomous proxy and use that to see if you could get to the site - this will prove if it is a site issue or an issue on your side. I meant dont put your login details into THE ANONOMOUS PROXY.

The front page of our site is fine and your details dont go anywhere else. New members and those not having issues dont have to do anything the site works as it always has.

I would again like to stress that there are a handfull of users who are having issues and these are not caused by our site but rather by badly configured DNS eiter on the users machine, router or at their ISP.

If there was an issue with the site we would not have had 700+ people login yeterday without any issues.

if it loads the site then its something to do with:

your PC
your router
your Internet Service Provider

I would start at the beginning and see if another PC or a friends laptop will work from your broadband connection. If it does not then I would check the router - do a factory reset or see if there is some sort of DNS cache that can be deleted from it.

If that doesnt fix the problem I would call your ISP as it appears they are caching something on their side.

monka I dont want to sound funny here but if you dont want to try what I have suggested then that is up to you.

I am trying to assist you with a problem YOU are having. If you dont want to try fix it then dont. Again I dont want to sound harsh but there is nothing wrong with going to www.toyotagtturbo.com as its working for all but 3 or 4 of our members.

It works via that site which from your post isn't a good thing? So i'm guessing we can rule out computer problem as both the pc and the laptop are having problems so therefore move onto the router?

How do i hard reset it? is there anything i need to do/know before i do? or should i ring my ISP?

for a couple who are having issues accessing our site directly you can try it by going through a third party proxy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF you do this... and the page loads it confirms that the problem is on your end. I suggested not entering your user/pass into a third party proxy as I have no way of telling if they are legit... and you dont need to login to see the site is working if it displays it displays.

If you login directly to toyotagtturbo.com AS ALWAYS why the hell would your details be going to a third party?! you aint logging into a third party.

lol... sorry man this is getting a bit frustrating as the problem is not on our end so I cant fix it for members if you know what I mean.


@Kelly: if it displays through that site then it kinda proves the issue isnt with our site so would be looking back toward your end. I would THINK that if both machines are having the same issue that it might be your router so could be worth hard resetting that but all routers are different so cant really tell you how to do it.

Again if you want to set up RDP or allow me access to your machine in some way I can have a look at it for you and make sure everything is okay.

kk worries dude, can i ask one thing

it seems to be ok here, although every other time on my ps3 and on here you have to load the page twice
ie
type toyotagtturbo.com in, page wont load, if ya type it again, it does, this happens on my psp, ps3, and pc

thats weird Monka, Ive not had any other reports of that and I am not experiencing it. I have tested from 3 different PC's 2 in Ireland one in Florida and my PSP and mobile phone and they all connect immediately and super fast compared to usual.

I would recommend on the PC at least to totally clear all internet files and cookies etc Then load up www.toyotagtturbo.com and then hold CTRL and press F5 to force a full reload of the site.

After that I cant see why it would not work.

The last router I had to reset got unplugged and given a light warning tap with the nearest hammer. Seemed to get the message across.

Well you won't be able to do anything with my router by doing this will you? But if you think you may find something and have the time i dont mind

If the site loads through a third party proxy has anyone tried using a different browser like Mozilla Firefox??
About resetting your router, you will need a pin. If you look at the back of your router you will see a pin-hole with Reset written above it, stick the pin in there with the router powered on and hold for 30 seconds.
The router will now be reset HOWEVER you will now need to setup your internet again, you do this by going to:

Start
Run
Type in CMD
in the black window that appears type IPCONFIG and press enter
Find your Default Gateway will be like 192.168.0.1

Put your Default Gateway into internet explorer which will bring you to your router page
Username and Password will be admin & admin or admin & password
In here you should have setup wizard or basic settings
Under this field it will ask for your broadband username and password (these are supplied by your ISP) and will also ask you connection type which will be PPPOE or PPPOA again ask your ISP.

If you are lucky enough to be with NTL its alot easier, reset the router, put the default gateway into internet explorer and under your router page you should see Mac Address, click on this and there will be a button Clone Mac Address. Click that restart your NTL modem and router and your good to go.

Dylan -- when i just tried "www.toyotagtturbo.com" in a new tab it worked fine. i restarted my comp and tried it again and it wont work again. Which is basically what its done all the time.Everytime you have helped me and we have gone through what to do on comp next day when i have gone to use it again it doesnt work again.

(obviously at mo im using it through that ip address)
