couple of adjustments made and questions answered:

The browse catagory section has been changed to not show the entire members car thread which makes it a little nicer to navigate as it removes photos etc which some members have added which are huge and distort the page.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

You can post an attachment in your members garage and during the process in the "manage attachments" section you will see an option to "set as garage picture" if you do this the picture gets displayed beside your garage in listings etc.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you upload photos in the manage attachments option usually they display down the bottom in a list. You can then right click on the attached images select "copy image location" and then add them into your thread using the add image button so they show full size.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

To use the save as draft feature you go in and edit your original post and then before you click save you tick the save as draft box. This then hides your garage from view of everyone. When doing this you can specify a date and time for it to automatically publish or you can click the "my stuff" button and click "My Drafts" and you can publish from there.

The idea behind the garage is that you keep all of your updates etc in the first post and all comments on it go below so that it doesnt become totally mashed up with comments everywhere and bits of updates mixed in between :)

------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have edited the main portal page to display the most recent two members garages - this only displays for logged in members.

OK...so now we will have one long thread with our updates in rather that replies...I get it.

Sure is going to take a while to load and a lot of scrolling is going to be involved!

Is there a way that each update can be seperated like a reply, but always starts underneath your last update and all other replies go below every garage up date from the owner...if get what I mean?

I see what you mean with the attachement manager now, will have a bash tonight.

I dont think that is possible Gee I think its all got to be one thread mate. Personally I like it that way. The way I plan using it is to put some small updates in the reply bit under my garage and then just keep adding the updates to the main thread also.

That way you will be able to go right through my cars history if you wish and the comment and questions will be displayed at the bottom. Should be best of both worlds

thats what I thought Shar the tags seem to be working for me.

PS: just saw Gee's members garage.. its so well laid out and easy to read for members, this is exactly how I imagined the members garage looking. Check it out http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/dynamics/showentry.php?e=12&catid=2

i see u used 2 different ways to comment on the garage
by reply and by stamping it.

wat are the differences between it?

the stamping is just a way to quickly leave a small "nice car" message and the reply is more like a "where did you get those wheels?? how did you fit that boost gauge... what gain have you got your EBC set too...blah blah blah"

The stamping one is just a bit of fun.. if it aint being used it can easily be taken off but thought we might give it a go :)

oke now i fully getting it.
i think there could be posted a "how does it work" explenation on the first garage page,
as i see this tread there are not much people reacting here.

i have a garage on a local forum. that garage setup is fairly different.

Good idea I will get a tutorial up :)

Was gonna do the garage with lots of structure like that but wasnt sure if people would prefer to have their own layout.

In the end decided to go with a less restricted method to allow people be individual. But can bolt bits in at a later time might not be a bad idea to have a box with

Engine:
Turbo:
BHP:
QTR Mile Time:

or similar.

I copied and pasted everything over and it worked. Put when you post a reply and do it, it does not.

I will try editing the original to see if it works that way.

Just to confirm, it works fine when editing the original thread. Just not when you post a reply..strange.
