but the guys running the 11s are running tires that can put down the 1.8s extra torque.

which is something im sure your purppose built drag car will have(big slicks/radials), meaning you would infact be able to use the torque, if you had it.

Phil

yep my tyres will be plenty good ;) to be honest traction is the main thing we have been workin on , its always easy make the car faster but setting it up and setting up the traction control and boost control so it gets off the line as quick as possible is the hardest bit . but once thats all 100% most of the power will be used

now that will be quick , tegs are quick anyway. what boost you running? turbo? etc.

im using srp 9:1 cr piston eagle rods arp head studs rod bolts acl bearing all honda gaskets 550cc injectors, fpr, walbro pump, greddy fmic and custom piping, uprated clutch lightened flywheel i changed the gearing in the box slightly and a custom exhaust, greddy profec b boost controller and a heap of other bits a tricks.
im gonna try a couple of differant turbos to see what suits best i have a choice of 4.
it's all ran by a apexi pfc but im gonna change it soon enough for a demon..
its got fully adjustable suspension and camber and im testing a couple of different sets of slicks to see what the best combo.
im aiming for 350hp i will no by the end of the week..what power the car will manage

should go well, what i dont get is how this can keep up with spuddy at all.

im sure it would be tight between spud and something like that spec on the strip, but there must be soo much in the setup that spuddy hasnt had until now. cause out on the road a 350 teg even stripped would be way short against spuddys motor, but the strip its so different.

interesting to see how it all goes, with the teg well set up even down on power and up on weight im sure it will be tight.

yep spuddys car is a quick car no doubt , and fair play to him its the best starlet i seen. a b series engine should make 350 easy with low enough boost . ill be pushing mine to the limit been honest and if its blows all i can do is fix it :haha:

when spuddy is done he'll be roughly 480hp/ton

which out the road means your going to want about that hp in a teg or civic if you can get her down to 1ton more if you cant, just to keep up.

for the strip its in the setup. and hopefully spuddy has that dial in even better this season.

thanks man. me and my very experienced an knowledgeable friend built it with the advice of a well known mitsubishi tuner in wexford..
the rolling road im using is wexford based aswell.
id like to do well in this car for the simple fact that me and my friend built it ourselves and didnt pay no extortionate prices to a big time tuner for work that probly wouldnt have the same time and effort put into it as what we have...

im not trying to start an argument or anything now but i only had 195bhp early last year and i was giving spud ted and john a good battle and won on occasions and my car was down on at least 60hp on any of those cars.
can you explain please cos im stumped as to why i was able to contend whit these car's????

i am right in saying that 600 horse would be the number for a drag 1800 teg yeah?

when you guys get up there, there really will be no keeping up.

spuddys car i like for the same reason as you like your own magoo, home built, few dents, and helped out by mates who are interested in his project!

fantastic stuff.

read my post im confused too lol

maybe its easier to drive with less power. it is only a 1/4mile after all.

shorter ratios less power and no wheelspin after first gear you could find the car not exactly distroying your previous times now you have some proper power.

i just dont know.
