The way young drivers moan and gripe simply shows their immaturity and inability to grasp that the majority of young drivers don't have a feckin clue how to drive/react or generally behave on the roads in a safe manner!!!!! Hence accidents and the claims that go along with them. Not to mention insurance fronting etc, pretty common from what i read here fairly often!:flame:Admittedly some older drivers shouldn't be on the roads either, but thats another issue altogether!
I'm happy that my insurance is reasonable but then,i have full and protected no claims 12 years driving experience and literally 100's of 1000's of miles under my belt with no major accidents!
Simply drive like a cock, act like a prat on the road and you will pay for it from your wallet!

to be honest, it depends what you think is cheap?

£500 or less is reasonable. £300 or less is cheap for a GT in my opinion.

£1400 = cheap :p

I'm £1500, insurance should be higher for women drivers, OAP's and dicks.

I have been sat behind so many people that drive at 20mph in 30's when no one is in front of them, i have to drop into second and blast past. I also noticed, people with shit cars drive like shit.

They dont care about driving they just drive because its handy to be able to.

They dont care about driving so they dont have respect for the road, and they piss me off.

I hate being labelled a boy racer, i would describe myself as a car enthusiast, with respect for the road, my car, other cars, their users and pedestrians.

Any modifications are tasteful and purposeful.

I mean have any of you guys been stuck behind two women talking shit??? There not concentrating. I could talk to 2 different people with two different mobiles, have a pirate eye patch on and still concentrate more than the two daft cpws in front gabbing about who they suspect their husbands have been out riding.

And dont get me started on those fucking Zafira driving school run mothers. They drive along at 25, see their children, speed up to 35 then without warning or signal slam the brakes on at the side of the road to pick the children up.

I'm 18 and have drove for over 50,000 mile and not had one bump...

Wow, i see this thread has caused a lot of controversy lol.

IMO people shouldn't get pissed off with the fact they have to pay high insurance premiums when they are young.

I have had my fair share of nippy cars and have had to pay for that fact with high insurance. All i can say is that it pays to wait to have a fast car, especially a turbo'd car.

It makes me laugh when i hear 17/18 yr old saying they deserve to have a turbo'd car and get away with payin piss all on insurance. IMO u need a crappy 1.0 ltr car to properly learn to drive in for a good couple of years. This so u can learn to handle sticky situations like sliding on black ice at 30 in a residential area, or aquaplaning on motorways, or driving in snow, or proper emergency stop, hell i could go on all day, but my point is would you really want to be doing all of this for your first time in your pride of joy starlet/glanza?? i know i wouldn't

im insured with bell and with me being nineteen oneaccident (in my first car) an sp 30 £900 and if im honest i thought that was a fairly resonable price

I love the way people say young drivers dont have a clue how do drive etc

Picture this

You go down the motorway and there is a car stuck in the fast lane for no reason, you wait behind them whilst they day dream and dont look in theyre mirror,When they do they slowly pull over and look at you stupied

And almost 90 percent of the time they people 30+

Anyone that says that young drivers dont have a clue are totally wrong

YES there are some young drivers that think they are the best but not all

A younger person is alot more alert on the roads rather than some old person!!

Its a FACT

yeah its experiance which they(we) lack,

I like how people are arguing like ollie actually has control over the whole situation. Its not really up for debate. He was just stating a fact.

Maybe his first post could be made a sticky to try and reduce the pm's hes getting.

i totally agree that he just posted it to let ppl now rather than everyone mailing him to ask him

just needed to add my bit after reading some other peoples post

Yes mate, spot on. Thanks for sticking up for me/Sky. The trouble is I work for an insurance company so I get general insurance abuse sent my way... this happens on all of our affiliated club forums and I expect it and deal with it. What I will say is: Where are the other insurance companies/our competition? They certainly are NOT on your forum talking to your club members are they?!

Personally I couldn't give a feck if younger drivers are paying higher premiums and if they state that they are better drivers... Facts speak for them selves... claims stats dont lie... and we all had to start off paying high insurance premiums.. it is not something we decided over night :)

I drove a 1.2 8v fiat punto for over a year before I got my starlet and I'm glad I did :D
