The Twin Towers were made using a structure consisting of a rigid "hollow tube" of closely spaced steel columns with floor trusses extending across to a central core. This was employed due to the height of the buildings and gave the best protection against weather conditions. (Not Planes)
A really good design, the centre core essentially only taking the gravitational weight of the building with a prefabricated steel lattice, with small columns doing the rest of the work.

Introduce to that a Plane filled with jet fuel. The remaning material in the centre core not blown out from the initial impact would have been affected by heat from the burning plane, fuel and office supplies, not hot enough to melt it but weaken it enough to cause extra stess on the lower structure.
This would cause the centre core to buckle making it look like the "floating" floors were falling straight down.

As for the comment about the lower floors apearing to have been blown out and people hearing explosions, as the plane hits the building a shock wave would have traveled down as the building bends and stresses. (Remember, its designed to do that to a certain extent to withstand weather conditions) This shock wave would have hit the greatest area of resistance being the ground and would have blown the windows out in that area. (Similar to an earthquake).

- A plane hits tower #1, blowing a hole in it high up. The expected things then happen:

- The building stays up. A reinforced concrete building is *extremely* strong. Terrorists set off a large bomb *inside* that building without significant damage. Notice that neither plane impact does anything like break off a big hunk of building floors and send it crashing into the street. The WTC towers were specifically designed to survive a direct impact from a jumbo jet - which *both do*.

- The stories from the impact point up burn horribly. Note, fire moves upward, not downward.

- The second plane hits the second tower, lower and moving faster. It blows a bigger hole through it, showering debris on the street, but the building is clearly still standing and still looks quite solid.

- The second building begins burning, also from the impact point up.

- Perhaps a half hour later, the fire in the first building *goes out*. It is still smouldering and letting off black smoke, but there is no flame. Anyone who saw the documentary on that horrid skyscraper fire in Philadelphia that led to the codes requiring sprinklers on every floor knows why. There's no way to get fire apparatus into a skyscraper effectively, so it needs to be designed into the structure - which it is. The water flows from the roof reservoirs down. Sprinklers can kill incredible infernos, and that's what these do.

- The fire in the second building goes out.

- Then, later, the second building suddenly crumbles into dust, in a smooth wave running from the top of the building (above the burned part) down through all the stories at an equal speed. The debris falls primarily inward. The tower does not break off intact and collapse into other buildings. The bottom does not crumble before the top. The burned out section crumbles also. The crumbling comes from the top (above the damage). It moves at a uniform rate. All of the structural members are destroyed in a smooth pattern, so there is no remaining skeleton. The damage is uniform, symmetric, and total.

In summary, it looks exactly like a demolition - because that's what it is.

- The first tower collapses in a similar demolition wave.

There's no doubt that the planes hit the building and did a lot of damage. But look at the footage - those buildings were *demolished*. To demolish a building, you don't need all that much explosive but it needs to be placed in the correct places (in direct contact with the structural members) and ignited in a smooth, timed sequence. Someone had to have had a lot of access to all of both towers and a lot of time to do this.

these threads can go on and on forever , conspiracy lmfao:p

Interesting point, However. The towers were not designed to withstand a plane hit. This is a building that was designed before 1966 and opened in 1972.
The Sprinkler system was not efficient enough to put out a fire consisting of jet fuel and over such a large area.
As I said before though, the impact wouldnt have casued the building to fall, it was the prolonged heat affecting the centre core design that would have led to the failure.
People are never going to agree on what happened. But from an engineering point of view the evidence given for the theory I gave makes sense.

did anyone not read my post about the third tower. explain how that happened. ?????????????????????????????????????????? they pulled it down the same day saying the fire dpt had to pull it. it goes down in the same way. controlled demolition. <<<<<<<<<<<<<< was never covered on news much as it is obviouse they had detinators before everything happened. it takes days of work to pull a building of that size . look it up ppl . if that building had explosives days before then i gaurantee the 2 others did and it just shows that someone had prior knowledge of all this happening. anyone look at the ppl who do that stock market stuff. look that up 2 cos there was such an increase in trade <<<<< never seen before a day before it happened. <<<<<<< whats that all about .

i do agree with ya building wasn't made to withstand a plane hit but if it did the damage would be minimal ,wouldn't say the plane hit with such speed and the whole tower collapsed ,there has to be bomb planted in the building IMO. the plane hit wont demolish the 110-story tower, thats just my OPINION

i do understand the way you are coming from.

Trying to find info now, I thought wtc3 was demolished by the two main towers falling first onto it leaving only the lower levels. This can be seen in alot of photos before, during and after each tower falls.

I typed World Trade Centre 3 Collapse in to Google, not found anything significant yet but did find this. http://www.mace.manchester.ac.uk/pr...toricFires/BuildingFires/worldTradeCenter.htm
Showes the theory I tried to explain above but in much better detail.

some of the points above regarding people taking money out of the country are such a joke.

If people come and work in a country and perform a service who the hell is anyone to tell them where they should spend their money and why is it anyones business if they take the money back home.

I think the real issue here is when people see more highly educated people coming to their country, getting a good job and seemingly earning a decent wage. There has been a huge influx of Polish workers into Ireland and they work very hard and earn good money. Yes they are probably planning on leaving and going home to buy a house etc but good for them. They fill jobs that otherwise wouldnt be filled.

As for giving 50k to some punter who came over and he set up a stall selling drugs. These isolated incidents are always the ones that get most attention. They make it sound like any person from a different country can arrive and will be handed 50k to set up a business, that is not the case.

I have issue with gypsies arriving from romania etc and begging at traffic lights but I know a guy from Romania who has made a great life for himself in Ireland. similarly Nigerians have a bad name in Ireland, one of my best mates is from Nigeria and came to Ireland got an education and worked with me for 5 years.

I hate the "taxi driver" attitude - "those foreigners come over here and take all of our jobs... blah blah blah" - just because they have a chip on their shoulder.

All of the above said - I do believe that people who come to our country should live the way we do and if they dont like it they should go home. No one asks these people to come here so if they dont like things they should stop moaning and go home.

A few months ago there was a muslim couple on the tv complaining that their wasnt any schools where their kids could get a muslim education... This sort of thing annoys me. Surely they knew Ireland wasnt a muslim country before they got here. And if they are not happy with the education system then go somewhere else. Could you imagine landing in a muslim country and getting on national tv saying you wanted a catholic education for your kids??

Religion should be celebrated by people but not enforced on others. I personally dont subscribe to any religion. Politics is a subject I like to discuss but all to often the issues that plague most developed countries are blamed on minorities as they are easy targets rather than actually look at the real issues.

Pull everyone that is fit to work off the doll queues and force them to dig roads and work on civil projects for their handouts... thats where I would start. People who are able bodied and sit at home saying "I cant get a job" are the worst problem and should be looked down upon. Id sweep the streets before sitting at home accepting a hand out. (no offence to people who sweep streets)

exactly, my point is stop the riff raff coming to the country.

do what australia do, and have a points system, and all those that dont have enough points get turned away.

i wasnt making any point about them taking our jobs and taking money away from the economy, thats ludicrous.

although there is a lot sapping our health system and benefits.

and i agree with your point, that everyone on the dole que should be forced to get a job regardless of whether they like it or not. (obviously the people who physically cant do this can be exempt)

i also beleive that there needs to be a lot more police presence on the streets, i'm fed up of having to cross the road to avoid a large group of pissed 15-18 yr olds

PERSONALY i think the government is a bunch ov bollox, they punish the working people an the people that give a dam about the community and thoes who decide to live a crimminal life are treated with more rites etc.
Its a total shambles..

for exsample my best friend has a incurable muscle deseise in her back, an she works 12hr shifts.
Because she is NOT registered as disabled or on the Dole she cannot get her acupuncture from the NHS witch is £60 per session..*witch she cannot afford on her wages*
BUT if she didnt work she would get it for free.... :(
And not only that but thats pretty much telling people to quit there jobs work of the tax payers to get what they need for free, Same as dental cair,
i im 21 and i cant get onto a NHS Dentist Register, But if i didnt work or i was an immigrant i would have priority.. How the hell is that Fair.

Also... on the Police aspects of it.
If you murdered some one how is a 15year sentence a LIFE sentence?
they get 15years wiv an early *probation* with good behaviour, also prisons are a pice of piss i did a day in a prison and they get Balanced Meals, free TV, Gym access and other things, pretty much a good life for doing some thing bad... does that make any sense a LIFE sentence should be life and corporal punishment should be bought back into action..

basically i think it's time we all jumped ship an let this country Rot! coz thats whats going to happen either that or there will be Riots in the street with UK Residents because they R so SICK of paying the Government to do a F**king Shoddy job of running Our country!

Sorry 4 the long post!

i think i made a few fair point in what i said..but thats my opinion.
But to be honest this thread is a open can of worms,
Every one has there own opinions witch they obviously are entitled to.
So there are bound to be contradictory views etc on the topic.

well i would prefer to live here, in the uk, compared to the likes of Africa, Iraq, russia etc as the goverment control is alot better, and so the country is ran better. dont get me wrong, there are problems with how the country is ran, i.e tax, punishments etc however there will always be problems because there will always be people who want a better standard of living!

can anyone name a country that is perfect?

just my 2p of course!

Gav great points there, i totally agree with ya people should live according to country rules and that should be every where fair game. and if you break the law you should be punish weather you are citizen or Non national punishment should be same for every one. and thats the point i was trying to get across early on and disagree with that chap but he took other way fair enough.

and i am totally against the people who are fits as f*** and don't bother looking for job, "lazy faaaaakers".:flame:

criminal is criminal he doesnt has to be any race or nationality.

and you raise great point about "foreigners" who do work hard, but it seems to me people swipe all foreigner with same brush just because 1 f**ker did bad thing.

sx-turbo cant you read it i didn't call you racist or accused just gave my opinion so get over it man.:p
