t1s' are far far better than t1 r's in my opinion just a shame they don't sell them anymore, iv tried both t1r's and the new toyo px4's and i prefered the px4's.

either eagle f1's,px4's,spec 2 and if your mentioning r888s you may aswell mention advan neova's to me there superior to 888's.

for a road legal track tyre id say yoko A048R kicks arse over any other and for an all round road tyre the Perelli P-Zero Nero as the dry grip is awesom wet grip is awesome and the life span is awesome plus you wont find a stronger side wall on a tyre so the handaling is brilliant when using it too as thers no flex/travel!! my mate owns a tyre fitting shop and iv had most types and he came up with this as the solution last time i saw him and they are spot on in every way :D

best tyres i have ever used are the bridgestone potenza semis.only prob is they are very pricey at £96 per tyre from nengun.

toyo 888 alll fucking day long. They were absolutely amazing on my type R, the grip of the tyre was shocking compared to the eagles i previously used on it. They need a bit of heating up to get sticky though otherwise can loose grip. Not long to heat up though.

and when you hit wet?? the car will go wherever she wants!

You lot need to understand that different tyres work well on different cars.

My personal experience is that Toyo T1R's on my GTxx handled extremely well in wet weather conditions, better than some tyres I've had in the dry. Other people have had other experiences, but you have to take into account pressures and weights, profiles and widths etc.

You can't just blindly state that a tyre is crap unless it's Nankang or an equivalent :p

whats your problem g.v i had that written before you posted, why you think it's all about you, you seem very quick to shoot people down all the time when they got a different opinion to yourself,

Definitely not true. As i said in a previous post in the wet i found them to be still good. When they wore down badly then they became terrible in the wet granted.

This was on my EK9 bare in mind but i tried 3 different tires on that car one of them being the eagle F1's and i could not actually believe the cornering ability of the 888. I can say i could corner 15MPH faster on some sweeping bends with the 888.... At 90MPH the eagles started to promote understeer, same corner 100MPH+ full throttle and still on the inside lane. Amazing tire IMO and worth the money on that car.

On the starlet i could do with some experimenting. I have the eagles on now so when its on road i will give them a good tester....

maybe you had some special r888s? cos everytime i used the car in the rain i had to drive off boost or else would go anywhere except where i wanted or spin in 3rd 4th..

I doubt they were special. I was using them on a different car so maybe that's the reason for different experience. Only starlet I used them on was Aze_b old one but I didn't corner hard at all and was dry. Just floored it in a straight and gripped very well for 280Whp.

The compound would make the most difference in these tyres.

I have GG (Softest) compound R888's, it's very hard to see how they wouldn't offer some of the best grip available. They also have reasonably large channels to disperse rain water, but obviously any average road tyre is going to do a better job.

What are they like in the wet, and how do they compare price wise to other branded tires like eagle f1s?

in 15's you can get the eagles for around £45 per tire, for the 888 you can get for around £75 per tire so alot of price difference. They are definitely expectable in the wet IMO, i never had probelms until they started to wear down.

Another thing if you corner hard often then they will wear down very quickly. Mine became illegal after about 7 months(and that was only really weekend use  ) . Not good but worth the enjoyment again IMO. On the right car with the right driver they are a very good mod.

never had eagle f1 but used t1r's before, r888 has way more grip but thats due being semislick, grip is improved in the wet too but not a huge difference
