A used Blitz SS BOV, when they get old the brass piston wears and leaks air, atleast I found that out after it was fitted and two days before mapping, more about used JDM items below!
Rear strut brace, from what i've found it doesn't do much... not that i've noticed anyway, instead of buying this, put your money into a rear arb.
Used JDM items... my exhaust, I paid £340 used condition, got it, and its okay... but the flanges were all corroded (not to the point they leak, but not far away) so needed to spend a while grinding them all smooth and messing around. Dont buy it just because its JDM, remember its probably had a hard life, and most the time you have no guarrantee how old it is because its come off a fresh import or something. My mates JPerformance system cost him around £300 brand new, has a larger bore for higher power applications and is brilliant quality.
Used electronic parts... my HKS turbo timer, the wiring was absolutely shocking and needed to be completely stripped and renewed. I paid £20 for the thing and spent the best part of a day fitting it. For what... something that keeps the engine running longer, I personally dont leave the car whilst its running anyway, lets be honest its just a party trick. So in the future, i'll just sit in the car for a minute or so.
And a little advice for new and possibly a few existing starlet owners, dont assume your Toyota main dealer is expensive, I manage a Motorists shop and without discount I could expect to spend up to around £30 on standard 10/40 oil and a filter. At Toyota I buy genuine oem filters for approx £4 and a bottle of 10/40 for about £14, you know your using the oem recommended parts that were fitted in the factory, and you get the Toyota invoice to go in your service history, can't be bad!
