well there has been lots of different civic type R's produced in a short space of time with not many years in between so "eras" can be relatively short

The Glanza is pretty much identical to the GT chassis and engine wise which has been around since the early 90s so yes I would say from a different era.

Yup, different era and more still a Honda like the EK9 would have probably triple the amount spent R&D, chassis and interior.

One was designed to be a nippy shop trolley and the other more or less a track car which can be driven on the road!

So, with a few hundred quid on chassis and power the ickle EP can easily hang out with the big boy Type R VTEC's yO!

Thats more of a testament to the EP's if you ask me.

I don't reckon those type r hondas would handle as well as they did 10 years ago suspension components wear out shocks start to go as do bushes most people would just chuck coil overs on them anyway if they wanted to do track work I put a rear sway bar on my glanza and new shocks and lowering springs and it corners like it's on rails
