either:

Strip everything off that block, check and rebuild it

or,

Buy another engine

Something is seriously wrong with that engine you have and it needs addressing properly

its common sense to check the block surface if you are having head gasket problems aswell as the head, and changing one piston and rings is just plain lazy to be honest, and now you say smoke is pissing out of the breather AFTER you have rebuilt it... what exactly did your 'rebuild' include? if you do half a job then dont expect it to last, simple. i was trying to help before mate so dont start going off on one.

not lazy at all,its simple to do and they take no time to take out, dont see why just beacuase one is gone why replace them all,its like fixing somthing that aint broke

doesnt make any sence

which rebuild are we now taking about, its had a few

even if it had 4 new pistons ,they dont last long anyway mate

take a look it tech section, everyones seems to be blowing up

you only hear about broken things more than you do things that are working ;)

i can give you a reason for every single engine blow up thats happened.

poor tune, modified wrongly, to much boost, engine not looked after well enough i.e not enough oil changes, ragging from cold etc etc

also remember that the oldest engines are now 19 years old and have had a lot of abuse

even a chior boy cant take as much abuse as these engines do in there lifetime ;)

I don't think mine falls under any of them.

wasnt yours really dodgy when you first bought it?

and then you had a load a new head and then a turbo cos it wasnt put on properly or something, but you never had a new engine.

how do you know the car wasnt abused in the past?

most the time the damage is already done, it just takes a while to come out sometimes.

Point taken!:homer: Yes it was quite dodgy when I bought it and has had some bad garage visits, I've tried to treat it well but I think its time for a new engine.... :(
