300whp is do able on a stock 5e, i got the 5e block here with the stronger rods and they big enough to take some boost alright, buti would stick my neck out and say on a 4efte i cant see 300 whp i remember taking the first 4e apart running 1.5 bar on a td04 and a td05 and every rod had a slight bend in it:haha:

i woud normally bang on about it can't be done, BUT there is TOO many oversea's people that have got stupid power from stock block's:rockon:, now it could be are dyno's or that us brit's got a bad batch of 4e and 5e engine's or no one in the uk can map:haha:

These are from Noel Rhone, he runs a small tuning firm called Spi (Starlet Performance International). He's the top EP Tuner on this side of the world. He holds too many records to name, but you can check my site for his achievements.

This one was him breaking the 300whp barrier with stock internals. He's never had the money to build a forged engine. All he uses are OEM factory parts, modified to his spec.

because of availablity and silly prices
thats whay alot is dependant on tuning....
they use what they have and tune the shit out of it

i had forged a 5e melt a piston too much boost/shit tune
lol

i believe in rory (hardcore ep) he has helped me lots with
any questions i ask him even when i first joined
he had many years of ep ownership and his website was helpfull
the same goes for this thread it here to help others...


when my car gets built its going around the globe
may even fly rory here to map the car...

i gonna see what it can do in each country

Question Rory - couldn't you have used the flat top pistons from the DIS 5E-FE's instead of shaving down 4E-FTE pistons? I forget what the calculated C/R of dropping stock FTE pistons into a 5E was, I think around 9.2:1, but the flat top pistons are a 9:1 ratio, so would be cheaper in the end I would've thought! Commonly used in the US OEM internal setups

i am not building it till i can buy a forged/billet steel crank
in there...


i have a forged 4e at the minute that will be running a
big turbo next year for starters...

I'm not the shaving piston expert. Its not something I recommend or would do myself as machining the piston can affect the structural integrity of it. However, its done by others and they claim it works fine. And to clarify they don't shave the 4EFTE pistons, its the 5EFHE pistons. I have no further knowledge of the process beyond that.

i honestly didnt want to post but.........
u guys went through this with fUr already, talking bout monkey dynos.
the same fur who showed Launch control on a forum who was lining up to buy a circuit to
get the same said LC. wow

from looking at builds here in Barbados u guys simple underestimate the potential of the 4E or 5E.
u guys seem to prefer bigger boost numbers rather than a bigger turbo. and buying everthing under
sun so to be safe. its a shame that u down play
a guy who is very helpful an has proven himself knowledgeable when tuning an ep....shame.



i find u guys like low compression where as here we raise ours on the 5e. there is even another
islander with a 4e an he raised he compression an some couldnt understand. anyhoo
before u smack talk just let the the build happen an see what comes out of it
