Yes it's the st205 rev4/5 block and you can tell by the stamp.
Looking at the vid somebody put up when he walks to the engine bay and picks the air flow meter up? only rev1&2 mr2's and early celica's have them as rev3+ mr2's and st205 have the map sensors.
that piece of rag is just dying to be sucked in the cam belt lol, i like the switch on the handbrake whats that for again?
The 3SGTE isn't a great engine lad, you will run a serious risk going over 400hp with the block cracking in 1 of 3 problem areas, just don't bore it out by more than 0.5mm, your can get 0.25mm oversized pistons from CP, I'd even be inclined to go for them.
Will be good to see it forged up and running more power though.
Edit: I'm sure you will come on to argue with me so thought I would just add, yes I do own a 3SGTE MR2 aswell as the Starlet and the starlet pisses all over it and reliably runs over 500hp with no block cracking carryon.
not exactly true most of it is people not knowing how to build the engine or how to tune it why the block cracks. I've built over 150 high bhp 3sgte engines never had a single once fail. only time i had cracking issues was on the 955bhp drag demo car and as long as i tuned the compression ratio correctly on the engine it still lasted a whole season of drag strip action at that power.
i'd put one of my built 3sgte engines against anyones starlet engines power for power on reliabilty anyday
not a dig at anyone but there is alot of wrong information being posted on the years and conditions of 3sgte blocks in this post. i feel where the 3sgte is my specialist engine i should atleast correct that information for the forums knowledge credibility.

I withdraw a reply i mistakingly directed at you Marcogtturbo, got you mixed up with that Richglanza fruitcake. My mistake.
so your saying that of all the 3sgte engines that have been built all over the UK by many many tuners, they have all tuned them incorrectly?
spuddy how far do you want to go with your 3sgte?
