it will eventually damage the engine mate.. fuel cut is actually a safety feature but if your hitting it regulary the engine is getting no fuel.. the big end bearings are first to go from hitting fuel cut all the time... see how you get on with a more restrictive filter first...

I will try with a Mushroom type then and see how it goes
