just wondering what be better?

if you have 2 of the same car, one with oem lsd,
and the other a oem 4wd starlet,, what take off the line better? would 4wd spin at all?

just wondering what way the 4wd would work...

and can you get an lsd fitted to front and rear of 4wd? and how does the 4wd owners find them wit no diff ect?

Not much of a 4paw expert, but heard you cant get LSD's for them, however, those who have them, love them!

The quickest starlets about at the min on the 1/4 mile are fwd

Yeah, but if you compare 2 identical by power cars the 4 wheel drive starlet would get more traction, better handling, worse MPG -) And probably the gearbox problems, it's just cheaper to go for the FWD.

is it possible to convert the 4wd into just rwd? wouldent that be better than fwd and in the long haul faster on the quarter mile? 4wd's are just faster off the line but after that the 4wd system itself is a huge drain on engine power

4WD Starlet, 275 bhp, 11.94 @116 mph quarter mile.

They loose out on top speed as the ratios are shorter.

Of course it is possible, there was a video on the youtube somewhere -)

how long would u get out a the box's doing a lot of dragging and that..

and i was thinking aswell wit the 4wd would there be drag once u get going? like if u did a roling race there be less drag on the fwd and it pick up better.

or with the shorter ratios in 4wb box would that even it out or..... lots of questions and thinking to bo done about this.. haha

A 4WD system has more transmission losses due to the length the torque has to travel, compared to a FWD setup.
Once you get going, unless your running serious power, its just extra weight to tag along tbh.
If your going to be dragging it you do have to think about the ratio's, you ideally don't want to be shifting into 5th, but i'm sure John will give you a better idea of this.

theres no box problems with the 4wd ep's there just as strong as the fwd's ted and john have gave theres plenty of stick on track and the strip. ive ran 324bhp through mine drag racing this year with no issues.
