Another dutchie, Corolla turbo

Hi guys,

My name is Bas and I'm from Holland. I'm 24 years old and I've driven my Corolla since I was 18. Nowadays my Corolla is my secondary car, and mostly a hobbycar.
I just registered here, even though I know the forum for a couple of years now. Since 4 / 5 weeks I have a 4e-fte engine in my Toyota Corolla E10.

For years I've been busy doing the exterior of the car. I built my own front bumper, for instance.

For years I wanted to have a turbocharged engine in my car, and just 2 months back I got the change to buy a Corolla E10 with 4e-fte engine. I swapped the engines and sold the other car. The car came with loads of parts that were not fitted. Of course I fitted them all, so I started right away with a nice setup. Here are a couple of progress pictures from the swap:

Here's my current setup:

EP82 - 4e-fte engine
Air intake with Green airfilter
2,5" downpipe
2,5" cat replacement
60mm catback-system with HKS Hi-Power silencer
Custom FMIC setup
Forge BOV

Just yesterday we had a dynomeeting with a couple of guys from the dutch Corollaclub and Startletclub. I ended up having 123.1 WHP and 167.1 Nm of torque. So that's about 140 - 145 BHP at the crank, running a bit to rich. I'm planning to tune the engine in the next couple of years, doing it all by myself and have a good time tuning is. The target is up or around 200bhp at the crank, and maybe a bit more if I go for a hybrid setup.

I'll be here asking questions most of the time, asking for advice and opinions on how to achieve my goal. For now, complements to your forum and all the monster setups I've seen on your engines!

Nice E10 dude!

I always wanted to turbo my E11 but financially wouldn't have been feasible for me. Still want to do this on day.

welcome and was there much work in fitting this because im thinking of doing this with an e11 corolla.

It wasn't that much work. I switch both engines in 4 weeks time, using the eveninghours and weekends. For the Corolla E11 it depends on the current engine. If there's a 4EFE in the Corolla, it's a straight forward swap. All you need is to change the wiringloom to make the ECU fit and you need to build a custom downpipe that goes over your subframe, just behind the engine.

When it comes to costs, a genuine swap including the wiring loom and downpipe should set you back 2000 Euro. Including the setup with 2,5" exhaust, FMIC and BOV schould set you back another 1000 Euro's. Especially the exhaust is expensive as this has to be custom made. Though, buying a Corolla FTE and swap engines, like I did, is much cheaper.

Yeah I know the skirts are missing. I have a set of skirts laying around though. They're from Nippon, but I modified them completely. I would like to give the car a complete respray after I fit them, so I'm waiting for the day that 3000 Euro's arrive and I'm able to do that :D

Paint look's good to me I would spend the 3,000 euro on the engine and :drive:
