Some of you might remember that in Oct 08 my car was written off due to a taxi driver running a stop sign. (took 6months for insurance to pay out)

Anyways After a couple months off work and physio etc my solicitor phones me to inform me that iv been offered £2800 in injury compensation!

Initially they told me to expect something in the region of £1000-£1500.

Im fcukin over the moon!! :)

2800 what, just for the car or just for the injury?

If you were harmed as a result of you accident and have been off work, I'd want at least 2-2.5k for the car and another grand or two on top.

Result! Assuming you fully recover :)

Put some cash into savings mate, good time to put some money in an investment ISA. Barclays are doing some decent deals with fixed 40% return rates even if there is only a +10% rise in the FTSE 100 after 5 years.

If that is the first offer they have made tell them you will accept £4k and they will come back and offer you a bit more. Then repeat eg . say they offer you £3k go back to them and say ok £3750 etc and wait till they get to £3.5k . Two months off work is serious mate whether you were getting paid or not.

Good news though getting it all sorted. Just be a bit patient and you will get an even better deal.
