Best tools & sets

Howdy people what tools do you guys use ( no cocky screwdrivers and spanners lol comments)

I have a tool box with tools from argos and its done me well for basic things but now i seem to be workin on everyones cars and im always havin to buy the right socket, or torx etc

So now i want to buy all the tools i need

Spanner sets
Socket sets
Torx set
Screwdriver sets
Any sets etc i can get to help me

halfrauds professional do a nice big set for around 100 quid. has most of the tools you will ever need apart from apecialist stuff like odd size sockets and allen keys etc. come with a lifetime guarantee and sturdy case to keep it all in.i keep one in my boot just incase :)

I will second the halfrords stuff its good for the money. Most of my tools are snap-on but I use mine every day for my job and imo there a bit on the pricey side but he comes to me twice a week so its worth it for the after sales.

Just to reinforce what the others guys have said halfrauds is a good competent set, with a very good guarantee. You've got the other bigger more expensive makes like snap on, brittool etc but they are very dear and unless you literally are a professional mechanic there's very little point.

The britool stuff is very poor quality compaird to what it used to be these days as non of it is made in england now and its classed as facoms cheepo line of tools on the other hand facom stuff is very good but yet again more expensive than halfords.

There just a few of the "non normal" stuff that i use everyday and would be stuck, or fucked off if i didnt have lol.

i have draper stuff and find it decent enough.

just as a side note, you will always be buying tools as long as you are a bloke ;)

I've always used halfords stuff just for general tinkering. We've currently got the 150 piece set on offer at moment, normally £200.

Use snap on myself, but as said, halfords is very good for the price. I've used the halfords set myself and it is great quality. You will always be adding tools to your collection :)

The Halfords Profession stuff is good quality, if you know someone who has a trade card for them there is good savings to be made on them as well.

my misses getting me a hallfords 150 piece set for crimbo my brother uses them great tools really cant be faulted and well priced. probley the only yhing in the place worth a wank

I'm a snap on and mac ma myself but have used some halfords stuff in the past and it is a lot cheaper and is good quality stuff just remember to keep your receipts for you warranty mate (just incase)

found teng tools are good value and not too dear if you buy a set, snap on is the best but imo far too dear if your not a mechanic by trade! have some halfords pro tools and spot on for the money.

I was plannin on getin the halfords set as lotsa ppl told me its an awesome piece of kit , im guna probs. buy a couple of the ratchet spanners aswell

I just wondered if there was any kits just as good but cheaper haha

Halfords is probably the cheapest stuff thats of very good quality unless you go to brand names like, teng, mac, snap on etc.

x2 i know alot of mechanics who are scrapping the whole snap on only shit an just buyin halfords gear. with the lifetime gurantee its wel worth it. an also paying 3 times the price for the name snap on. doesn change how good a mecahnci you are lol. just caus you use halfords over snap on etc.
