I wonder if you can adjust the alarm or get a super large alarm speaker that would scare the shit out of anyone breaking in to it, loud enough that everyone would hear!!

Update - 26 Feb 2009

I got an answerphone message earlier from the officier in charge of this case. It appears they have lifted the little bugger and are pressing charges. I don't know anything more at this stage.

I've been asked to get a quote for the damage to my car so as the courts can do him for criminal damage.

Just hope that bugger doesn't try to sue me for cutting his poor little paw on my broken window..:haha:

Update on this one (seeing as it's survived another attempted theft yesterday..

The little ballbag got 100 hours of community service and was told to pay me £200 damages in the end. He'll do neither so as far as I'm concerned the courts do not work.

What has revived this thread is this little treat I found yesterday after work:

Yet another attempt which has proved one thing - If you are leaving your car anywhere take two minutes to remove something vital. In this case the steering lock was broken and barrel forced. The only thing stopping it from being taken was the 60 seconds I spent after parking it up. Forget your alarms and immobilisers, this simple measure will make all the difference.

Just need to fit a door and a steering column to get her regal again.

I wud suggest that you get the boot delocked, then it can only be open from the driver lever, as one of the weaknesses of the car that I found is that the boot does not have any door switch, so if your alarm does not possess any ultrasonics or shock sensor , they can get in without trigerring the alarm..

this is so demoralising when you arrive back to find your car like this, at least they managed to find who tried to take it the first time

Stuff like this that makes me thankful for a set of delocked doors and hatch, on more than one occasion I've watched people walk past, walk back, see the locks (or lack of them) and take off. Pain in the arse when the battery is flat though!

It's so upsetting to see one of your prides and joys be victimised by people who are in it for their own gain and too lazy to get jobs and earn the money themselves.

the worst thing is that they get away with stupid things like community service which as you say they will not do.

im thinking maybe make my car into something from the old show robot wars so if they try brake in it uses an axe or a flame thrower on them!!!
