Yup, seen worse mate although that's pretty bad.
The crack actually starts on the inside and appears around the wastegate at a later stage. Basically the third pic caused the first two. I keep a cracked unit to show visitors to the garage. Much easier to explain it with a good example at hand.
some times it would not hold boost at higher revs too well. u can just replace the exhaust housing if u can find one in good nick but thats not easy . if there only a small crack you would not even know and the car would drive 100% tooIs there andy tell tale signs of a cracked wastegate? Is there excessive lag on the CT9 when cracked cause I do feel laggy when below 3.5k. Is there any smoke or anything?
yup thats riteYeh, didn't really notice anything wrong with that turbo as the car still pulled well. Is that the side where it is connected to the cat? So If i remove the cat, will i be able to see if there is a crack?
