Driving Roads - Scotland

Been considering this years roadtrip and the idea of blasting round Scotland has come up. Did a bit of online research and Apples Cross looks quite interesting but I was wondering if anyone has any other recommendations on what tarmac to sample?

Cheers in advance! :drive:

"The dava!" Grantown to forres great road for bikes and ep drivers also used to go Inverness to Ullapool up over the dam is aw sum! But both of these roads make sure you take spare under wear as the twisties are twisty! But if any one is up this way let me know and I will join use! We should get another meet in elgin again now my ep is alive

All the roads here in Australia are all the same....loooooong, hot, tiresome roads, a few bends n thats it :(

I can imagine the Scottish highlands being rough n ready, with little hagis n men with kilts screams ....yaaa barstards lol as I 'wisp' though small villages

This is all good input folks, starting to look forward to it already :)

A few of us make a point of going on a roadtrip every year. Went to the Ring in 2011 and drove the length of Ireland last year so the pressure is on this year lol. Had fancied the Isle of Man but it's a little small for roadtripping purposes. Still needs done though!

I'll get googling on those roads now, cheers!

Drove from Inverness to the Isle of Skye, then down to Edinburgh. Amazing views and loved every minute

The road from newton Stewart to new galloway through the galloway forest won't be beaten jay. Lovely wide flat tarmac, camber corners, hairpins, right lefts. You name it you get it. And not a car to be seen for miles

And the chippy in Ullapool is worth the tank of fuel lmao

The road from Garve to Ullapool is awesome.... but almost a bit too fast for an ep, I prefer doing it in my beemer. Our wee cars are best suited to proper twisty stuff! North of Ullapool upto Kinlochbervie (can't get much further North) gets better for that, but a bit far and remote for a road trip, nice for a holiday though.

I need some suggestions too as I'm planning a group road trip later in the year - I want some good twisty roads to show up some bigger cars!

EDIT: Agreed on the chippy though btw!!!

i used to do it on my 2003 636 ninja so 163mph was good enough lol

wallace glanza that is a good idea!

could have a big meet in Breamar as all the lads in scotland (Aberdeenshire, Elgin, Buckie, Dundee, Glasgow and Edinburgh) will get a spot on roads to drive and a big meet in bearmar?

we stopped in this car park

1379.5 KMS of Ted-seeking, Moll-gapping, cake-eating silliness..

Portavogie to Killarney, Killarney to Galway, Galway to Dublin and Dublin back to the Vogue. We were tempted to do a run to Portrush as a starting point but never bothered.
