Driving your Glanza in Snow

Not seen any threads come up about the recent wintery weather, so wondered what you guys did about driving your Glanza in the snow, or do you not if you can avoid it?

Usually I love driving in snow, but in my Corsa. Always been a bit worried the Glanza would come off the road, but I took mine out today for the first time in snow since i've owned it, and it felt very slippery, and getting any sort of power down wasn't easy! Wheel spinning in all gears. I've got Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres though which I wouldn't say are winter tyres and that might be my problem. Also my wheels left two tyre tracks in the snow whilst my Nur Spec left a third!

Anyone else have any issues with it or is it not a problem with winter tyres?

It would be down to your tyres and also that our cars are very light from standard also. Winter tyres will make a hell of a difference, would be almost like swapping trainers for snow boots ... that much of a difference. I tend to use my Audi in the snowy weather more to due to the fact that its other people on the roads driving skills that worry me.

We dont actually have any snow yet lol been looking like its about to open up the last few days but Met Office says otherwise.

other peoples driving tho is questionable thats the orse bit of being on the roads, this morning i was following a guy who hadnt even cleared any of his windows other then the front ad couldnt see his break lights and he kept stopping suddenly, dick!

I didn't have a problem this morning, running 2 toyo's and 2 budgets, although the mainroads weren't bad at all but just the side roads where it is more slippery.
Agree with you Zoe, I see a few people driving on the motorway this morning with snow still all over the rear windows, god knows how they check their blind spots...

Haven't had any problems as I've not seen any snow. Would be good to have some though, see how the 4wd drifts then.

Mines been in my garage and wont come out until the ice/snows off the road. Dont trust other drivers in these conditions.

I thought my glanza handled pretty well in the snow untill i went round a negitive cambered corner and hit a narrow bridge and wrote my car off :( This happened last year, the snow was more like sleet then I came round a corner and the road was covered in it. I was really luck stayed on the road side of the bridge or I would have been pretty fucked. Learnt my lesson avoid the snow if you can. There is no consistansy with grip in the snow.

x2 that drives me nuts when people brake for going up hill. I use 2nd gear, heavy foot going uphill, low boost mode, and hope that I dont meet anyone.

But generally it is totally crap in snow and I cant move it from the house, all big hills around me.

Stick to the 4x4 jeep every time.

i remember my td04 glanza was soooo bad in the snow lol like unbelievably bad haha. im looking for something 4wd as my daily now for sure. would love an a3 quattro tdi but they much too expensive and there are hardly any 4wd supermini's/hatches that i can see anyway, was reading that suzuki might bring out a 4wd version of the swift. thats the kinda thing id be after.

I'm lucky enough to live close enough to work that I can leave the car at home and walk in when it snows...but even luckier that we haven't had any snow yet this year and hopefully it stays that way! Last year, I had to leave the car at work and take a company car home for a few weeks when the weather was so bad. Between the handbrake & battery terminals freezing and a combination of the car being so low & the LSD gearbox, just made it a nightmare to drive!
