I've recently replaced the cambelt and timed it all to tdc, but was wondering if it's correct to have it at 10deg before tdc when running? I have a strobe light, but haven't ran the car yet cos I'm waiting for the cam cover to come back from the polishers. Cheers guys.
Crankshaft pulley set to 0, 4E on your timing belt pulley point up, Rotar arm pointing to 1 and marks on the exhaust and inlet cam setup as long as you tensioned the cams, i.e a 12mm iirc bolt through the inlet service hole.
i prefer running at 10 deg stock ... meanwhile some people would add some degre to perform the car ...
Good to see another high compression guy, how much boost do you run ?
i'm currently running 15.1 degrees on a not-so-stock setup; 4e-fte motor with a ct9b @ 0.75bar, fmic, relocated intake, stock exhaust mani feeding a high-flow 2.5" kakimoto exhaust system. at the time of getting my ignition timing, i had ~95 deg C coolant temp with the engine idling at 825rpm.
