Does anyone know the exact weight of a 4e? May be going to pick one up but unsure whether my wee punto could take the weight. Its just the engine, no gearbox, mani's or tmic. Rep for anyone with useful info:drive:

not heavy - punto will take it, i know nick at tuning developments had picked on up in back of a colt.
2 people can lift it no problems at oil (aslong as its drained of oil).

Defo shouldnt be a problem mate, i had one in the back of my starlet, was just a basic engine without manifolds, turbo, gearbox etc.

EDIT: did a 25mile trip with it too

It should be ok id imagine mate, just wouldnt be doin crazy speeds incase you hit a bump or somethin.
but id imagine it would way about same as 2-3 folk in the back at most so think it would be ok.

...I've carried motors before for short distances. Couldn't be more than 80kg or so for fairly complete longblock. No worse than having a fattie in the back. Man up!

I've had a 4e where the passenger seat goes, a 5e-fhe with box, Full exhaust, some driveshafts and a Ford C4 automatic transmission in a Glanza before

i picked a saxo vts complete engine and box up in a citroen ax! there quite a bit heavier than a 4e. the boot floor got a little dent from it lol.

I picked up a 20v 4AGE ST with gbox attached from riko in oxford a while back :D drive from dorset so like nearly 100 miles each way at a guess. That would have weighed 170kg ish. No hassle at all :D a bare 4E is gonna be no more then bout 100kg. Thats like having a moderately heavy person in the boot - no deal
