if its anything like the subaru i own half of with my brother

it should handle immense but have the power and take off to kill subarus all day long

infact i doubt theyd be much on the road that would stand a chance against a 4wd 300 + bhp starlet

the 4wd transmission is designed to handle the stock power of 75bhp.. although most things toyota are over engineered so exactly how much power one can handle is anyones guess, and luck probably plays a big part in that too :haha:

what you gotta think though is why you want a 4wd starlet.. ? to get traction.. but if its ganna run so much power that you cant launch it and drive it hard without risking the trans poppin it kinda defeats the object of going 4wd lol

It sounds like you are looking for an answer when there is no answer - No one in the UK has broken the EP85 drivetrain yet.

Feed it the power and see what happens. If something breaks then replace it with something stronger. That would appear to be the approach our AWD owners use and their bravery is highly appreciated. :)

We currently have a 200+ bhp and a 240+ bhp in NI and neither shows signs of quitting. I would await feedback from Trevor, Ted, Gaz or Wee John as each of them has firsthand experience in EP85 territory.

thats why i wana make it reliable so i can drive it hard and launch it

yes i think 0-60 is a bit hasty, but i think he means once rolling in a straight line the 2wd will be quicker due to weight and drivetrain loss

yer but cumon

this is technical forum talk now imagine 4wd starlet round bends

especially with big power

who cares if a normal fwd would be quicker in a strait line

plus not every day ul meet a 350 bhp starlet to compair with isit ?
