I am very interested in getting an EP85 but wanted to check a few things since the chassis and drivetrain is completely different to the EP82.

- Does the same suspension fit?
- Are rear brakes drum? And if so, can they be converted to discs fairly easily?
- Are front brakes same fitment?
- Does EP82 bodywork bolt straight on?
- Is wiring loom the same?
- Do aftermarket exhausts need to be modified to fit because of the propshaft?

And finally, what can you do about the 130MPH top speed (apart from bigger wheels which will make a tiny difference, or changing gear ratios which costs a few grand apparently)? That's the only thing that worries me - its rather low, and will also mean that cruising at motorway speeds it'll be revving its nuts off.

Cheers

i know the rear suspension is different for coilovers, meister r do some though
id guess the exhaust needs to be modified due to the prop as you say as the aftermarket ones take the same route as the standard one (ie right down the middle of the car)

pretty much everything in your list needs to be modified mate.

the suspension will fit, but will be too high at the back. you can either get a set off meister r or modify the rear to suit.

rear brakes are drum. no one has done a rear disc conversion as far as i know. not worth it though tbh.

front brakes are the same fitment.

bodywork will bolt stright on, but to fit some of the lower plastics you will need to drill holes etc.

wiring loom will need altering to some degree. they are all slightly different it seems so there isnt a rule book on how to do it.

aftermarket exhaust will not fit. completely different run under the car.

gear ratio change wouldnt cost much if you can get a final drive from a GT box. the car revs 500-1000rpm higher in top gear at 70 than a stock gt.

hey what's up, well my brother and i began with the ep85 and now the car is driving fine. i can video edit a little so i made a few pics and clips and made a movie about how we began and finished the car real nyce.

we used the ep82 suspension it fits perfectly.

the rear brakes are drum we didn't check jet if it's possible, i don't think it is tho

we also used the ep82 brake discs cause the other ones where smaller than the ep82

i couldn't check the body work cause a friend of my brother bought the ep82 body

the wiring is the same, but my ep85 has 4 doors and doesn't have power windows so the power window plugs are free.

aftermarket exhaust wont fit you have to build the exhaust yourself

as the ep85 is n/a the wiring does need a fair bit of work, rear drums are quite sufficient and gets rid of the caliper sticking issue in winter. as the ep82 on std gearing can go to 165 mph i think the ep85 gearing is much better suited to acceleration at legalish speeds
