They wear quickly because they are a soft compound tyre. All soft compound tyre sacrifice longevity to gain grip. I have used Toyo Proxes T1-R for years and have been more than happy with them. I think they are an excellent tyre. I found them to be excellent in all weather conditions, including the wet as long as they have adequate threads as any tyre would be rubbish when badly worn. Thats just the opinion of me and my friends though, i cant speak for everyone

wear too quick ,there shit in the wet, over all few of the mates ran them never got them again ,:)

they dont seem to wear that much worse than any other performance tires apart from maybe the top end pirellis and the michelins.

cant comment on wet weather use as the car only ever sees dry days ;)

avons are good in both dry and wet and they dont wear very quickly either.

the falkens camskill do look like a similar tyre and are also a bit cheaper.

mine are awesome in the wet, dont think they could be any grippier tbh!

but after having nankangs on the front i think plastic would be an improvement.

Been using Toyo Proxes T1-R's now for many years and I think they are absolutely fab. It is a soft compound and does wear it more quicker then some other tyres but you get a lot of grip in the dry. It's still pretty good in the wet too but any tyre is going to be sh*t in the wet if you don't have enough tread.

If you want to go for a harder compound then get the T1-S (that's if you can still get hold of them), I have them on my rears for nearly 3 years and the tread is still like new! :)
