hello everyone, a returning member here.
used to own a silver glanza a few years ago.
sold it when my little one was born, jump around quite a few different cars for the last 4 years. now own a hilux surf that I use for off roading.
But the main reason I am here again:
I have just bought a '97 corolla G6
car is standard at the moment but looks like a great starting project now the boy is growing up a bit.

currently/standard spec:
1.3 4efe with the lovely 6 speed gearbox
54k miles

the great thing about the corolla over the starlet is the independent rear suspension and standard anti-roll bar.

future plan - 5E-FTE with a TD-04. not looking for great power, something around the 250 mark is ok for me, will be more for track fun than straight out speed.
Having done a season working in the British Touring Cars, I plan on a great suspension set-up with good breaks etc.

not decided on interior yet, probably be a full strip and cage at some point, but until all the other work is done it'll stay standard so I can use it on the road.

now for your opinions please.
oh and I know its not a starlet but here for engine parts/info

Nice base to build on. A little heavier than a Starlet but still much lighter than new cars that can support 250hp should be a fun drive. Look forward to seeing your progress.

Welcome back, sounds like a cool project! I hope you dont have to loose the 6 speed box to hold the power.

Welcome back! Nice project.

Indeed the plus point is the rear independent suspension. Some camber doesnt hurt at all ;)

The box is very healthy at the moment. Been well looked after. Everything is nice and tight.
Yea a couple of degrees of camber on each front wheels and 1 degree on the backs. Will be enough as a base point.
Just using the car as it is at the moment untill I can get it in the garage, currently my late nans cars is being stored in there

Good to see you back, looks like a cracking base for a project, almost too good to modify!
