iPhone apps?

Don't pay to have your iPhone!!!!
I done mine myself, PM me if you want step by step or if you want to try it yourself visit www.blackra1n.com and download the program then open it, connect your iPhone and click the button on the screen and download rock and cydia onto your phone then pick the app repositories yourself. I can send goof ones and passwords if anyone wants then
also my 3gs never runs slow or buggy and has jailbroken 3.1.2 software

I have an iPhone with o2 and it's great. I don't understand why I'd need to Jailbreak it?

I love plugging it in to my 5.1 Cinema system, and streaming songs from Youtube etc. Or just using it as an iPod!

Yeah if you have a mac 3.1.3 will be doable with pwnage tool if not blackra1n will release one for the update, or you can downgrade the firmware/band to 3.1.2 and it'll work!

There is a lot you can do with a jailbroken phone, obviously if you don't mind paying for apps etc, and use your phone simply as a phone for the odd app its not really needed, if you get games/satnav etc there from 5 - 99£ which makes it expensive after a while!

my company develops for the iphone and I use it for everything from network testing to getting all the news from rss feeds etc and even use it to play movies via the video cable and have a dublin radio station app that lets me listen to the radio live along with shoutcast stations and a drum machine app which sounds great when plugged into my amp. I have mountains of apps and there is nothing I have needed to do with it that it been locked as stopped me doing.

I am intrigued though as I have not spent much time playing with the gf's unlocked one. What can it do that a locked one cant aside from using a different operators sim and getting games/apps for free?

Yeah, it's not that you 'need' per say, but would be nice like changing themes, getting aps that ain't available on the itunes etc (to be fair some of them do suck) but then at the same time my iphone lost the use of wi-fi before jailbreaking which kind of sucked so had to use a cracked ap after jail breaking to bring it back as the use setting reset etc didnt work!

Check this site mate has a lot of the features on there + a pretty useful site even if it isnt jailbroken http://www.iphoneheat.com/

You can change the full look/layout of the springboard using different software. I use a program called winterboard to do it, very simple yet effective.
There are plenty of developers on cydia etc that are always coming up with new programs and software. It's well worth doing.
I've also got the 3g unrestricted so I don't need a wifi connection to watch sky sports and the likes.
