LIBYA Discussion

In general - I think they're right to oppose their government, the government should work for the people, not the other way about. I think it's all for the greater good at their end, although I'm a little apprehensive about how all of this will effect the UK/US or the rest of the world for that matter.

I think us pledging support is also nothing but a good thing in theory - I just hope it doesn't pan out like it seems to so often (with our troops well and truely out staying their welcome - it's no good for them or us/our troops).

I've love to pretend I could give more of an insight, I think that my following of these events has only led me to conclude there is far more going on that I know about or understand.

It'd be nice to get the input from some forum members (if any) from there or there-abouts?

Lots of the opposition libyan leaders are hesitant about UK/US support so as not to taint their movement with the Iraq brush. Demonstrates the lack of judgement the UK Govt have had getting rid of our aircraft carriers. We are vulnerable on a world platform without them.

Gaddafi denying it was going on was comedy!

Will the middle eastern uprising and subsequent new governments be good or bad for us? Tensions in egypt and tunisia again. Is it all a prequel to WW3?

i think the uk should stay out of it, it's not our fight so why go looking for it.

there is more lybians than there are lybian government troops, so if they really want to they can sort themselves out.

the uk has got themselves involved in far to much as it is, also involved in far to much in stuff that doesnt concern us, most of the middle east dont even like us.

also it werent so long ago that lybians celebrated the return of the lockerby (spelling) bomber, i remember them out in the streets and now that they have turned on there government they want our help, how about FUCK OFF!!!!

but it dont really matter what the public want, the uk and american governments will get themselves involved because lybia is oil rich,

thats it mate oil rich they just want every counrtry every person to be in dept with them , but who is it , its not the americans or brithish its the big money greedy bankers . non believers. And have you noticed now they have every country around isreal locked down and that was there plans from the start. ALL ABOUT THE POWER ,they dont care whos in the way.

the situation is not looking good at all, even for us Maltese that we have nothing to do with this! the problem is we are the first land they are all coming, even Americans etc etc, 2 libyan mirage jet fighters landed last week in our airport they where ordered to go kill some people but instead they escaped to malta, now they want there fighters back but authorities dont want them to come here, in fact our only airport probably will be closed with military trucks so they cant land.

royal airforce are using our airport too to get people out of libya, the last attempt they did they got shot but with some small arms weapon so no magor damage was done.

hope this end soon, as i'm fed up everyday at work on standby including Saturday and Sunday without being paid ! oh well.. nothing we can do :(

It would have the potential to be the next warzone if it wasnt for our current MASSIVE debt.

In Afghanistan the only people who we have overstayed our welcome with are the government. The people do not want us to leave.

Pretty much my 1st beneficial quote to the forum and it has nothing to do with my car! haha

:haha::haha::haha::haha::haha::haha::haha::haha:

I did have a wee moment of doubt lol, it's annoying me now can you change the thread title please?
