nothing happens when I jump e1 to te1

As above. The check engine light does not come on and the idle does not drop.

Any clues as to what may cause this?

Is there a bulb in ur clocks for an engine management light ?
Are u sure ur connecting them correctly these are fiddly

It comes on when I turn the key to on so it should be working. I'm going to try cleaning the connector today

Also the throttle position sensor needs to be showing closed for timing adjustments to be set. You could try linking out the bottom 2 connections of the 3 pin tps plug and see if it works.

Yep, I've seen a few GT's recently that have needed the TPS set to let the diagnostic mode operate.

Got it sorted! Mate who did the swap did some shady wiring. Had to switch a few around and it works now.

Now to wire up emb and tune!

750-950 should be ideal, just set it until the car stops shaking mate.
