engine oil???

Make toyota
Model ep82 turbo
Year 1995
Engine size/type -1.3turbo

Any mods - 1 bar boost,decat

Type of use (road/track) - Road

Additional info (max oil temps, current oil used) - oil temp never rises above 75/80 . oil at mo castrol 0w 40 nd 10w 40 but heard lucas is good

What do you want a recommendation for? Engine, Gearbox etc? -engine and gearbox.

Go for a 5w-40 fully synthetic oil, something like Silkolene Pro S or Motul 8100 X-cess if you want to save some money

im using a castrol gyx mineral oil 20-50w.. and im in a tropical country. will it do good?
just toped up yesterday

The viscosity will be ok, however you can do much better then mineral oil, upgrade to at least semi synthetic but synthetic is best.

thanks oilman. will use mineral oil for 3mos interval. what if i will use royal purple? how many months will be the interval?

A decent synthetic should take 10,000 miles of hard abuse or change once a year, which ever comes first.

Wow, now thats interesting. Think how much people can save just by switching to fully synthetic oil!

I've just this minute ordered some Silkolene Pro S 5w-40 and some Syn 5 from you for my Glanza, thanks for all this info. :)

CT9 Hybrid, running standard boost, actuator, japspeed manifold, full stainless steel exhaust system, filter re-located, intercooler soon to be a front mounted one.

Type of use (road/track) road and 1/4 mile runs a few times a year.

Additional info (max oil temps, current oil used) - unknown

recommendation for Engine Oil please, I was thinking Motul 8100 X-cess 5W-40 or similar? but wanted to be sure before I ordered some.

Good choice for the road but would recommend something better for the track stuff as you want max protection.
