Opinions on small hatchbacks

got some bloke about 15 mins ago ask me if my GT could beat his 1.8 vectra ls to 60. i laughed and said ' do you want me to show you?'. he just laughed and drove off!!!

i dont really care. im 24 and have 2 starlets. dont want a bigger car. would gain nothing at all. starlet has good visibility, easy to park in small places and manuevre, quick, economical and handle reasonably well and has a boot big enough for what i use it for.

dont worry about it. some people may think your basically a chav in a saxo, but let them. as long as your having fun for half the price of there bmw or audi who cares????

ya ive had alot of cars seems i like the starlet i drive same thing great econmical and handling is great and you always get there on time

As an example say you started seeing some bird and you were going to her house for the first time and you pulled up in the Starlet and her dad is in the driveway you'd wonder what his impression would be but say you pulled up in a 3 series coupe or some nice coupe/saloon car what he would think. Its not as if your going to bring him out to show him what it can really do as much as he would enjoy it its his daughter sitting in the passenger seat most of the time.

well he might be worried abt the pass seat,but its the back seat where it would matter...

and i couldnt give a fuck what they think about hatchbacks,bmw and range rover drivers annoy me the most,esp when on the m1 heading up north,but thats another story,and there lack of horses...

You probably read what I wrote wrong, or maybe I typed it wrong. I don't mean ripping the piss by speaking, just rip the piss out of them with boost when they try it on. No talking involved.

this is whats making me want to get rid of the starlet now , body works in a pretty poor state, needs a respray, keep pumping money into it hoping i'll be happy but just loosing the love for it now.

im only 22 but so many younger kids buying them now because there cheap turbo charged car and acting like dicks in them.

I only moved away from the starlet because i bought a bad one that drunk coolant like anything. which put me off buying another maybe in the future i will purchase another never the less i've always loved the look on peoples faces when a 1.3 gets to the "speed limit" quicker than them and there in 20k cars etc, everyone round my way seemed to love the starlet and was fascinated by the power it was out putting! a neighbour even said he had an N/a and that was pretty quick for what it was. At the end of the day its your car, if your happy with it and it puts a smile on your face and a frown on others, then fook everyone else's opinion because after all that's all it is.

I get all sorts of reactions from people. Turbo'd cars are rare in the netherlands anyway. A scooby here and there and with some luck a Evo, thats just about it.
I get a lot of funny faces caus of all the plastic that is wrapped around my car, but who cares?! You quickly enough notice the change of their face when they here the bov going off. It's not fast, but fast enough. And the looks? Well i know damn sure i am never going to pull up on a parking lot and spot another car like mine

I am having a well blast in my car everytime i take it for a spin.

I get some remarks here and there from ignorant people, a short conversation with some quick questions leaves them thinking...

How much tax you pay for your car?
How much mileage you get out of it?
Whats the 0-60?
How much does replacing the .... cost you?

it's like playing trump cards, and mostly i beat them on all the above

I get it all the time! From my parents, my mates, my college mates, girlfriends etc...but ive made a hell of alot of sacrifices too own my GT (missed out on holidays, nights out etc etc because I was skint from the GT) but I wouldent change it for the world! Every time I look at it, every time I get in it, every time I drive it, it puts a massive smile on my face! If ive had a bad day, I k i know I get too drive home at the end of it or take the GT out for a drive later on and that always makes my smile and forgot whatever it was making my day a bad one.

People can say what they like too me...boyracer, chav, just throw those stereotypes at me....I dont care..im happy and too me thats all that matters!

So ya Corey, I think we all get it and its not gonna stop any time soon but just so long as your happy thats all that matters mate!

thats the very reason i made my glanza 300bhp, i was on the verge of getting a red evo 7 & the guys would not come down 400 euro so i said "fuck you ya prat", i swore to make my glanza as quick as an evo. now im restoring every part of the car & im keeping it. im still going to get an evo but i love the look on people faces when they see my car move

i know how you feel, i hate the impression my GT gives to average joe lol

then when i drive the mazda i get almost the complete oposite looks haha
when telling people about my 2 main cars (eunos and GT) i get some very confused looks.

it will always be the same, i joined the mx5 forum and as soon as i mentiond the GT and the mods it has people though chav, but then i turbo's the mazda and now then i got some complements back on both cars lol
