I believe the intention was to avoid friends etc over repping each other. And technically if you can keep repping someone then everyone will have the same rep power as you can do it over and over.

Saying that its annoying when someone has helped me a couple of times in a row and i cant rep them again for their help. You have to have a compromise for things to work i guess.

i think its a load of bollox, its like getting a gold star for doing good work in primary school when your about 7 years old.

I think its quite a good system myself.

If you help a person who has a problem or query about something to do with their Starlet and they decide to rep you for it, you feel as though you have actually done something to help that person with their car.

As opposed to repping someone, for example, for posting up a picture or video of some bird grabbing her other half's nuts on the street (Saw some post on here the other day like it) which I think is just stupid and doesnt reflect the real reason behind the repping system. Ok you may have laughed at the post but come on, its not helpful, just spam. If someone sent something like that to your email you'd just delete it right?!

I try to help people on the site with problems but half the time you dont get repped for it due to them not knowing how to, or cant be bothered cos they got the info they needed and they're off!

You just have to look at some of the post-to-reputation ratios of some members and its comical. e.g: posts = 10,000 reputation = 36 lol

i think its a good system :)

off topic but kirky1 u seem a very negative person firstly in this topic then saying the problem with starlets is girls drive them. lighten up a bit life aint that bad :p ;)

yes i did read the thread mate and in total honesty i think no matter what they do the system will be abused and its just pointless.
so need to be a dick bout it

Look at it like this... post count is there too as is the chat room as is the PM system. Some people use them and some people dont. Some peoples post counts mean a lot to them (for some reason) and some people dont ever look at what a persons post count is. Similarly date of birth and registration dates are all captured.. some people find these of benefit and some dont.
