suspension comparison

looking for some info on different suspension setups,

I'm currently on TRD coilovers, but i want to move away from the coilover route and aim for a fast bumpy/country road setup.

Has anybody any experience of TRD shocks and springs? what are they like in comparison to others you have been in/tried?
Are the shocks as likely to leak as the coilovers.

I know tein springs get good feedback.

Cheers

I had trd shocks and springs on my car when it arrived from japland.

Far far too stiff for our roads, two of them ending up leaking after a year.

I wouldn't bother, i ended up getting bc coilovers instead.

thanks for the info mate, I'm guessing they're probably as stiff as the TRD coilovers I've got then and not what I'm after

TRD coilovers are very stiff indeed and tend to leak. I've changed 2 rear sets. finaly removed them from my car. They are exellent for track use thought.
I had KYB shocks for a while (rear pressure adjustable only) which I realy loved for road use

I used potenza adjustable shocks and 30mm springs which were also very stiff..

mates used to say they "need a sports bra everytime they got in it" or when they got out they felt like "they had a kick in"

KYBs are very good for road use,i can confirm that as well.
Rear pressure is adjustable and it can be made very stiff to comfortable as well. :)

As far as i heard the KYB setup is defo the way to go if you want a good but comfortable ride. alot of people tend to go for the KYB shocks and RSR springs combo,

Might be worth getting a firsthand experience locally mate, you know what our roads are like. I think Phil is running JDM shocks and springs and he'd probably be happy enough to meet up for a spin.

i have trd shocks and springs and there not that stiff at all, lower it about 40mm. however there not the damper adjustable ones so might be diffrent stiffness to the ones carrington has. none of them are leaking, there all sweet, and is a nice ride.

im looking for a swap for coilovers with them tbh.
