Admin and mods can change passwords but have no way of seeing anyone's passwords so don't panic

The passwords are encrypted in the database. As a security setting the staff will not see a users password displayed in their user details.

Only thing is nothing is foolproof. To grab the password you would need access to the database then 'break' the encryption once you have lifted it. How long this would take depends on the forum software's method of encryption and how strong the password is to begin with. I would tend to avoid words/phrases in English and mix numbers and letters in important passwords.

Given that the UKSC database has been passed around like a cheap hooker I'd advise everyone to use some form of protection :haha:

It might be a stab in the dark mate but I reckon whats happened is something close to what happened last time as above get used to it,

However Uksc did go down roughly 2 days before we upgraded our server

Plus our sever and geos server are completely different and as no Ukso staff have any sort of access to Uksc it's a brilliantly timed coincidence

If its anything like before Colin it will be something server related possibly not being able to handle traffic. We had over a year of it before it went down for about 3 months at one point
