Volcano... how long will it last?

My bro is stuck in Dublin, he is meant to be heading back to fish in Holland.
Our company has an agent in Iceland, he was telling me last week that the last time that volcano erupted properly a few hundred years ago, Europe was meant to have been dark for upto 3 months....
Hope not this time, Im planning on heading on holidays this year

seen this, looks pretty bad, no flights till 1.00pm on friday, i think it will be longer. its only just begun... this would be a perfect topic to start a horror/sci-fi flim...ash contaned a virus, people breath it in BAM europe is infcted by zombies and its a flight for survival, man i have a vivid imagination

my father in law(more or less) is in gothenburg, meant to be back today, but all cancelled,
im meant to be flyin to isle of man for video conference with BP, doubt that will happen, and then supposed to fly to join my ship mid next week, and not so sure now. uh oh, more time off, and im gettin pretty bored being off

Come Sunday, if it doesn't lift, my Ma & Pa will be stuck in Venice. They already had their flights out cancelled by Easy Jet (they had to pay for BA flights), so this will really make them moan!

It's also worth noting that most school holidays end at the end of this week, so many families may be stranded in hot countries with great beaches, unable to return to school or work...my heart bleeds for them...

i'm stuck on oil rig in ekofisk and meant to be away on tues but cancel due to fog and now this shit. the worst is my holiday trip to far east on tomorrow saturday and now likely nothing gonna happen as i wanted to. Great experience lol

looked out the window this morning and the cars are covered with a light dust... same with neighbours.. its mad.. live in the burren in co.clare IRL... (eyjafjoll) volcano erupted before back in the 1800's and caused potato blight as well as killing loads of people in northern europe with toxins... volcanologists are worried that a much larger neighbouring volcano(katla) will eurpt as tremors were recorded at the summit last nite.. if this erupts we are all in trouble

northern europe?? this volcano has the potential 2 block out the sun for months or even years on the plannet.. its classed as a super volcano. like the one under yellowstone national park in america.. the odds of that happening tho are not good thank god...
