What alarm?

turbo timers are pointless anyway.

drive off boost for the final few minutes will do the same job. People like having electronic gismos in their car but personally I dont use it. My pager alarm has a built in turbo timer but again I just think they are pointless.

^Exactly what I do also, better than leaving it idling for a few minutes extra every day imo...

I've just had a 480XV viper pager alarm fitted (£400 from GAP security, including fitting at my house - I don't let her out of my sight lol)..

Does everything, locks/opens doors, door sensors, bonnet sensors, boot sensors, interior motion sensors and tilt sensors too (jacking cars up to steal the wheels can be detected). It also pages the FOB (two way communications) to alert you to any trouble, within a mile of the vehicle. Can tell you what doors or if the bonnet/boot is open, if the interior sensors are picking anything up and if the ignition is being tried too!

Well recommended, although I've had a few niggles with the fitment (*edit* not posting these details on second thoughts lol *edit*), I'd say thats just pot luck... They have an engineer coming out asap to fix it.

ive got a gap alarm and its shit TBH cost a fortune and the installer who fitted it was rough as fuck with my car, didnt put half of the stuff back together right and after 6 months in packed in.

First bad thing I've heard, bar one :( Hope mine doesn't follow suit!

Mine seems ok, although there were a few niggles with panels, but it took all of two seconds for me to fix that...

Good to post your experience for hutch tho!

Feck, cheers Dave, thats £100 cheaper! Althought it doesn't look like they offer a fitting service. I'm guessing any mechanic would be able to fit it for me? It doesn't need to be done by a specialist or anything?

No no, they do fitting, but are local to me (Glasgow)

It was just a guideline on price to be honest, but £350+£100 fitting is a terrible price, probably about £300-£350 including mobile fitting would be the most I'd pay (without a doubt) for that alarm :)

Anyone ever bought an alarm from eBay? Found a company selling the Toad ai606 for £210 fitted here. They seem to have good strong feedback, reckon they're trust worthy?

I know a place that fits the hornet 564t and 563 alarms which are similar to the viper and clifford(which are made by the same company DIRECTED ELECTRONICS). These both have remote engine start and turbo timers built in. The 564 has pager 563 does not.

Canvey Island is about 120 miles away though Ricky, bit far for a fitting service! :p
