Yes took me ages looking for my GT too a couple of years ago, but now i want to sell, there is not a lot of interest, being wrong time of year doesn't help either.

how much are you looking at spending on a starlet matey?

Just had a quick look on pistonheads and there seems to be a few nice examples on there. not all just black either

We can get the auction sheets sent to us although we can see a rough idea on the car in the basic listing. Like Mikey stated people get away with it as most people don't know what there buying, not that there stupid just its easy to make car look nicer and hide the true condition.

They look great in 5-6 pictures, all shiny and polished, they cover the engine in WD40 (which makes plastic shiny) so it all looks new, they clock the cars back a good 50,000 miles, they paint the blemishes, they just do anything they can to hide the fact it's really a piece of shit, literally makes my blood boil as we look expensive when in fact that's what there really worth. If you see a freshly imported Glanza 1997+ from a company for under £4000.00 then something is not right, unless they are importing them to make a loss (because that makes sense). If they import 40-50 cars then it may just be possible but try finding 40-50 nice Starlets at a time!!

never truer words toby! like i have my gt here, proving hard to sell! its in the country a year, fully undersealed before it went on the road, got a timing belt even though it didnt need it and treated really well, was a grade 4 in the auctions and has only 42k miles on it and a full years mot n a few months tax left, the annoying thing is im askin £4100 ono for my car and ppl are like ooo, thats so dear vlah blah blah, simply because there is cheap crap out there being dickied up and sold for crap, i can gaurantee mow not one bit of rust on the body of my gt and it is definatly worth every penny and another fact is, its far from a damage repairable, its doesnt have one dinge in it were ppl would open doors into it, i jus never put it in that postion to get damaged! but ppl would rather but a grade r sold as a grade 4!! :flame: opinion voiced!!

Ello mate.

ill keep posting this link as i had a really unimpressive experience at wrc. Yes some people will jump in and say that there car was fine from there but i really think its hit or miss, more miss than hit.

http://www.toyotagtturbo.com/old/viewthread.php?tid=33088

as the thread says i picked holes in 3 or 4 of there cars in about 20 mins. and the guy there asked what i was doing when i was checking the diagnostics. Doesnt really make me confident when somone that runs an import company doesnt even know how to do a diagnostic.

Personally i wouldnt touch any jap car place in bradford and leeds.

just my 2 p mate

i recon you could get a much much much better example from toby, so why spend the time looking around a place that even you are wary of?

Seriously worth the wait!

ricky man! our cars were long lost brothers!you gotta go silver now and get some red wheels!:D:D,imo silver is the BEST coulor for a gt.

But im biast:D my car was a good example for £1250 imo, come and have a look at it now, compared to some GT's with flakey bonnets and roofs...bodged gauges-parts etc.youv just gotta look around, there seems to be alot of dodgy gts around nowdays but im sure one will pop up,if you really like that mk1 rick bite the bullet,i would and i did,it cant be that bad surly and tbh.

I wish they made mk1s in silver because that would just be the best, ive been talking about getting a mk1 boot-front bumper for mine,i love mk1s too, quads are common, spesh black ones:p

(runs as quick as possible)

Don't mean to be a pain, but could you try using the return key in future?

That was far harder to read than it needed to be
