Autobahn S/S Manifolds

yeah, by the manufacture, so that its customers are satisfied with the products,

autobahn dont, so people are not satisfied,
things like manifolds and decats should be direct fit, you shouldnt have to go to fit it then realise you gotta get it skimmed

As said before, allmost every aftermarked manifold you buy has to be skimmed before you put it on.

Paid US$980 for my cruise manifold and it fitted perfect the first time. It has to do with how they're welded. Using the cheap welding will cause the flanges to warp. The Cruise flanges are also laser cut, not just CNC'd out. That said mine did break, but I was never advised to use the cat brace.

You can't pay that low for a manifold and expect it to meet any sort of standards. Its going to be hit or miss. People believe the Japanese are just price gouging, but the quality is there.

Yea, maybe it isn't necessary, but it's always better to do it, than fit it with a slim chance it isn't sealing properly. I had 3 speedvision mani's (not just for myself;) ) and when you put them on a flat surface, there not completely flat. One of them was mounted last week (and the owner was to lazy to skim it) and didn't seal. Also seen it with other brands like japspeed and silk road.

Ok, if you buy that cruise mani, they do it at the factory, but that is more than 6 times the price of these autobahn items.

If you want something like this to have the same quality as a mani of a thousand bucks, you're just another guy how wants something cheap for half the price:p

So don't complain, and skim it yourself with a glass plate and some sanding paper ;)

these manifolds are badly designed, pipes are to big, the way they collect is no good, there fore slowing down air speed, causing increased spool up time, also my car would not boost over 12 psi with the autobahn on, and it had a blow hole in the weld before i even used it which i had to repair

i had to get mine skimmed before fitting and its already knackered after a few weeks. There was a hole in it, and the flange had warped causing it to blow a lovely big hole in the gasket! hence ive cut my losses and bought Jamrays roadrunner manifold

I've had bad experiences with 2 types of stainless mani before I bit the bullet and went for one of the final Roadrunner mani's. It was money VERY well spent.

If a weld is bad, autobahn should replace it under warranty. You'll just have to take a picture of it that shows it's a production fault.

Did your manifolds had an Autobahn label welded on them?

I was just wondering, because Dave said he got a batch with thicker runners. So possibly they eBay ones are the rejects of the batch? Anyway, mines been on 3 weeks I think..I had it braced before it went on, and it went on no problems at all. Bolts were fine, clearance was fine. No problems encountered. And so far I've not had a single problem (thank God!). Just hope it holds out!
