For me to insure a scooby it was only £1800 which I thought was good for a 21 year old! And that was an import!

I kept getting stuck on hold with the DVLA so I gave up! lol

The women at the insurance kept saying "Are you sure its not a Starlet GLI Turbo" lol I nearly lost my rag!

I totally understand what you are saying here matey but from the insurers point of view there is also an onus on the policy holder to make sure the documents are true and correct and to update the them if there are any changes to be made?

Did the policy documents state GLI on it or did it in fact state Glanza V ?

It said "GLI Turbo" on my insurance documents and "Starlet 1.3" on my log book.

I no what your saying about its up to me to make sure everything's up to date but I didnt set my insurance up. The garage where I got it from did all that for me. The thick twat even put the car in my mums name!

Just gone to get some quotes online for my Glanza. Every time I type my number plate in its coming up as a "2006 Toyota Corolla 1.3glx" lol whats that all about?

I was just quoted £1456 with Adrian Flux! Haha another joke for the day.

forgive me if i missed it but is it ok to insure the car as a Glanza V but the logbook says 1.3 starlet ? EG.. ring up insurance, Tell them that it is infact a Glanza V turbo import. Or do i have to ensure the car is reg'd correctly as exactly what it is ?

Cheers guys.. blonde moment :)

Yeah, as long as it is insured correctly as a Glanza your ok.

As long as the logbook says Starlet 1.3 or Starlet Turbo 1.3 or something along those lines its fine, you can get it changed if it is wrong though

If you have a JDM Glanza V you MUST ensure it is insured as a JDM Glanza V.

If you have a JDM Glanza S you MUST ensure it is insured as a JDM Glanza S.

If you have an irish-spec Starlet you MUST ensure it is insured as an irish-spec Starlet.

One thing is certain. If the insurance company can get out of paying for an accident they will. Be very careful that your insurance cover is watertight.

Cheers,

Jay
