most items are stamped from the brand they are supposed to be...the bearings however are are not from that specific company..they use normal koyo or denso or nachi bearings as what i have seen with most uprated clutch kits supplied........

the disc and cover are supposed to stamp exedy and the presure plate sprangs are suppose to be closer to the center as opposed to the stock ones which are further apart..this is where the clamping force comes from ..the pressure plate itself...220 gbp for a organic ones seems pretty ok if the seller get them at a reasonable price from the manufacturer.......i heard autobahn in hong kong imports exedy from japan in large numbers and retail them at good prices...dont kno how true it is but so i have heard

this is the second clutch in a year the stock clutch lasted two yrs, so the exedy 35% one is crap and now i have a just as crap one with a shiney pressure plate, the fingers on the cover seem the same or very similar lay out to my original clutch.? the company better re inburse as they sell standard replacements for 72quid, so ive paid all the extra for what a shiney clutchcover. oh am mad.

To be honest I avoided ebay clutches for this reason, too many people have had clutches that either slipped, or some other problem.

I bought mine from Dave on here because, for the sake of £50 i'd rather have a genuine one.. especially when if you ring up exedy themselves they say they do not authorise people to sell on ebay.

I still havn't fitted mine yet (its due to be fitted Wednesday this week) but it came in two pink exedy boxes i think, one the clutch and one box for the plate.

EDIT: I can get a picture for you tomorow of my genuine plate if that helps

its a full kit and cost around £220 for the lot so somethings not right if others have bought from the same seller and have recieved genuine pink packaged organic kits for this price?

Yes but your not the first to have problems mate, do a search for ebay exedy or something similar.

I remember a thread with someone who got an exedy clutch which was in a pink box, but when it was removed and compared with a genuine one it was different.

I bought an Exedy racing clutch off ebay second hand for 40 quid 2 years ago and it only started slipping last week I bought a replacement Exedy Racing from a member on here and fitted it yesterday.

The differences in the clutch were quite big tbh but the new one I have if definatley more brutal when pulling off and there is more tension on the pressure plate.

The clutch disk on my old one was gold and had 4 large springs and the one I fitted yesterday had 6 smaller springs on the disk itself and it was a purple blue colour. The only markings on both pressure plates were the old one had like a crown stamped on it and said exedy and the new one also had the crown but had made in Japan stamped on it if this is of any help to you.

I bought a 35% uprated clutch off the ebay Exedy seller you have named and my mate has no issues and it is holding 1 bar without any problems.

:)

right if it does not say "made in japan" it is fake.

also the part number of the clutch cover (the shiny one) should say TC03T.

and yes the bearing is a koyo unit, this is fine.

the clutch cover being shiny does not mean it's fake as that is what exedy ones are like.

The clutch which I removed from my GT yesterday didnt have made in Japan stamped on the pressure plate and its been in there for 2 years at over 1.2 bar and it was second hand when I bought it.

Agreed it did have a gold disk plate with exedy stamped on that but the pressure plate didnt have made in Japan on, I wasnt trying to discredit what you are saying its just that you never really know what you are getting.

The feel was a lot harder than a standard clutch even though it didnt have the stamp on it but the new one I fitted yesterday (also secondhand) feels a million times better, and the clutch pedal is a lot harder tha even before.

no thats fine mate i know you wasnt :)

My pressure plate has no Exedy stamps/markings either Dave and its meant to be from the factory. Neither does my clutch plate, only the clutch cover.

Fake kits make use of genuine and fake parts so it can be difficult to tell.

the clutch plate isnt stamped with exedy, but should have a daikin marking on it (this is basing it on my paddle clutch), although i cant say for the organic clutch plate as i dont have one of them
