Our GT Dyno Graph's for Stock TD04

no thats wat am saying there given differant results!over with yous lads seem to begetting higher results than us over here thats all am saying and am just trying to figure out how and why??,put it this way mate i no 2 lad over here 1 was rickw on here he only managed 235bhp on his tdo4l fully forged and power fc etc at 1.4 bar,another was a mate of mine got 250bhp at 1.45ish bar on tdo4l fully forged etc!see wat i mean.but enough said i dont want runing this mans thread sory mate delete these post if ya wish

also i know a lot of tuners like to run extremely safe maps by over fuelling and not advancing the ignition enough as could be because they dont want any comebacks, i know a lot of tuners do this, and therefore affect peak power

i would start looking at the tune then as that is massively low.


all the td04's in the uk running that boost have all reached over 250@fly and all have been done on different dyno's so i really cant think how they would all be over rerading thats just cods wallop

std tdo4 turbo at 1.35 bar making 273bhp??come on that cant be right??i know people over in ireland ran 1.4 bar on tdo4,forge, ecu etc an only got 236bhp or someting!

wats going on over der in the uk all yous guys are getting these mad rr figures and people over here with very simular spec get way lower results!!!can some1 shine the light for me please??dont get me wrong am not haven a go or sayin ur a lier because am not,its just very confusing.lol

273.3BHP at the fly @ 1.35Bar max

..So more or less 1.4bar.

I got 275hp at 1.4bar, Wainy got 265hp the other week with a manifold leak, plus the rollers were under reading on the day.

Steve on here got 275hp also.

And now we have Nick.

There was someone else who got 275hp at 1.2bar, which is the only one I would be a little skeptical about, but depending on mods and tune I guess it is totally achieveable.

Don't think it is our rollers over here that are the problem to be fair.

how many starlets are we talking about are running 1.4 bar and getting less than 250bhp@fly on td04 in ireland?

you mentioned 1, how many others?

also you need to look at the tuners are they a tuner with a good rep or bad rep?

also nick owns his own business and there is a possibility that he tunes his more aggressively than he would with others

i no of 1 starlet and 1 glanza,an iv yet to rr mine,but am not expecting 270bhp-280bhp to be honest,even doh its a animal to go,but jus going from cars iv beatn with rr figures and similar weight to my car id be expecting inaround 250bhp anymore and id be wel happy

eh no rickw's was done in triple7 up north,and the other guys was done in westward engineering down south,so i duno lads.lol

ill be getting mine done soon anyway when i go to this rr day with lads on here then wel no wat sort of bhp i get

before making any judgements i would ike to see a/f tables and graphs for these "under powered" starlets personally.

like you said its all down to the tune,

if there being run very safely then to keep reliable ofc they wont make maximum power,

i dont know how nicks done his but i amagine as its his own car and hes doing it himself that he will be pushing the limits, and that is very impressive figure neway.

Thanks for the comments guys, i will struggle to answer everyones questions straight away so sorry if i missed yours.

Its still on stock cam's, we reached 1.35bar on the dyno then tailed back off to 1.2bar at 5500rpm which we need to sort but i do believe we will see over 280bhp once we have this sorted and ive done afew more tweaks.

Its got plenty of power though and is good fun on the track.

As for the Ireland guys getting low figures, i do believe rickw ran 1.1bar mate not 1.4bar to create that power and if you want 270+BHP come over and i will map your car and will get it running these figures, Still up for travelling to Ireland if we have enough interest for mapping.

And yeah sorry Kelly but i scanned them in and forgot to change them round, you get the idea though, will try and post the Boost graph up later for you all so you can see what boost it actually ran.

This is on a forged engine built by us and its done over 10k miles and created this power, strong engine me thinks :rockon:

I know mate dont worry, the dyno it was on is very accurate, and the transmission losses are very accurate, 15% i believe they worked from which is perfect for the starlet.

Have you got any dyno graphs? id like to take a look along with a boost graph etc please?

i maped at td04 on a sotck engine that made 248hp@1.1 bar cant see the big prob nicks hp sounds bang on . few coming soon that will be runing 1.4 bar and i would like to think they will make 275 ish. well done nick

yeah exactly, the TD04 turbo max's at 280bhp when ive looked up but would like to try and push ours past that but we will see what happens.
