sorry to be a pain but i not a muslim.

just out of wonder, what happens if you do break the fast?

Happy Ramadan to you guys to,

You won't suddenly get struck down my lightening or anything, but all of your actions throughout life will be judged on the Day of Judgement.

Those that do not have to fast are..

The young
The Pregnant
The elderly
The sick
Those fighting in Jihad (Holy War)
If you bleed.

So if you cut yourself during the day, you can break your fast for the day.

Happy Ramadan to everyone and thanks for all the support guys.

@ sx_turbo = If a fast is broken by mistake etc you can keep going and it will still count. To fast you must be phsically & mentally in good nick, If like mentioned by monkfish you are sick, elderly, young (under 12), pregnant, in time of month (for females) etc then you are not required to fast.

Also to add to the reasons why muslims are requried to fast, is for humans to see how "fortunate" they are rather than "unfortunate". Basically meaning for wealthier humans to look and reflect on the poor people and what they go through hence not to have greed in them and be thankful for what they have. An interesting read:

http://www.nashayman.org.uk/AboutNashayman/Ramadan - Why Muslims Fast.pdf

Also tbh Islam is actually a piecefull and friendly way of living life however due to some very bad so called "muslims" this has just been made to look like a joke. For example, all the non-muslims who study Islam and accept it and become muslims are better muslims than most people born as muslims imo due to them knowing what Islam is actually about.

What an amazing quote there haha

And to all the muslim lads, I don't know any of those muslim words so I'll just say good luck with it and happy Ramadan

lol, i did try to find a better way to put that... but i guess i didnt manage..

i remember when i was younger & i was raised in a roman catholic backround.. (till the day came when i saw religion to be a waste of time)... there cant b one correct religion, so my take on the world was to view all religions with an open eye; from the outside..

i respect other ppls religions as every religion has its stories & ways of dealing with life, trying to protect its members from living a bad life, so i guess its a nice way to promote human beings to do good & restrain themselves rather than live one bad ass life.. i guess society deems this necessary!

anyways good luck on ur ramadan lads! hope u all make it :)

btw something funny, in maltese we have a very similar word.. what roman catholics call "Lent" in english, we call it "Randan" in maltese :)

Peace
Kon

So you guys don't even go 24 hours without food? I know its a religous spiritual thing but I don't see what the fuss is about! I thought it was atleast a fast for atleast a full day.
