It does look as if the Tax on the last picture says 04.

One point that SX has made is that, Sham and Akki seem to be good mates, i have heard it many times that they are mates, and other members have said the same thing aswell.
Now i very much doubt that Akki would do something like this to Sham if they are mates.

There are far too many discrepencies (sp) in the story for me.

This is now in the hands of the moderators now! We could type on for another 20 pages but get no further forward apart from more and more members arguing.

We have spread the word of this to other forums all across the world which in doing so has made them join comment but the way i see it we are a great forum and community but judging by this thread would you want to join? constant nip picking.. not really setting a good example for new members and also members for the future.

At the end of the day i think a decision has sorto been made (not for definite) but by judging moderators posts it sortof clear.

X2 Seems alot of people are falling out in result of this thread, i see why its been left open and appreciate what the mods have/are doing for the TGTT community! we're all ment to pull together at times like these!

first off when i met up with akki when i bought my new starlet, i was talking to akki and saying about sham trying to rip me off by making me travel 200 miles to see a car that was described as almost mint and never crashed before, yet i got there and the car was a wreck, me and my mate couldnt beleive the state of it, and he thought i wouldnt notice the poor repair job.

i never met sham as he got his "mate" to show me the car, and when i pointed out all the bad bits of the car, even he couldnt think of any excuses for sham, and agreed that sham had wasted my time and apologised on his behalf.

sham never did apologise to me for wasting my time and £100 of my money.

any way akki told me then that he knew sham very well and said they were very good friends. i beleive he tolds a few other members the same thing.

akki also said that his cousin or some family member owned wrc sales, and even went down there after working hours to look at the car for me.

i have never spoken to sham since the car incident, i never had the time for him.

i pointed out to the mods about the whole thing and they told me it must have been a misunderstanding. i can tell you it wasnt a misunderstanding, but i decided i couldnt be arsed to argue.

sham then bought another car in that was an R grade, i know it was an r grade because it was one of the cars i see when looking for a car to import, and sham even recomended me to buy it, but i didnt want to take a risk on an r grade.

i told the mods about him selling an r grade car as being pretty much mint, but was told that i needed evidence to prove this, which is fair enough.

also i'm sure that sham told me he was mates with wrc and akki aswell.

and they all use the same 3 impoters.

i wouldnt say any of the above if it was not true, i am not just jumping on the bandwagon,

people cant keep saying sham is innocent, because when you look at the facts both him and akki seem to be as bent as a soho bar, and there excuses really do not muster.

when akki got his trading status revoked, i thought it was out of order as i thought he was a nice guy he done me a favour, but i didnt know about the other people he had ripped off. the reason i didnt know about this is because people kept silent about it, including the mods, the mods should have said that the reason his trading status had been stripped was because of some dodgy dealings, and this whole thing would never have happened, because everyone would have known.

some gd points mate. see the issue is that nobody appears to have definitive proof sham gave a dodgy mot although the evidence suggests otherwise. however stories like this from sx and other members seem to show an inconsistency with shams trading which is concerning. i think this is a fair comparison so stay with me- say for example there was a doctor who saved many lives but every now and again somebody died because he couldnt be bothered to do his job properly. would u take action? of course you would! so saying oh but you bought this off sham and had no problems doesnt really mean anything. he has to be a gd trader ALL the time. i believe its now gone beyond this one mot incident. now the light is on him, these other stories of bad dealings have to be taken into account, because as a trader "although suspended" he has reaped the benifits so must also assume the responsibilities. so i agree there is no point in us all arguing over this mot which we cannot prove. instead we should be looking at any other bad dealings people have had and then the mods can come to a decision, which i have no doubt will be the right one. i have pretty much stayed out of this thread but feel that some posts are becoming pointless. i hope this maybe gives a new direction which would maybe accomplish something on this matter. :freddy:

sham
noun [C usually singular] DISAPPROVING
something which is not what it seems to be and is intended to deceive people, or someone who pretends to be something they are not:
It turned out that he wasn't a real doctor at all - he was just a sham.
They claimed that the election had been fair, but really it was a sham.
THey claimed the MOT was genuine, but infact it was a Sham

As stated just above are comments like these helpful?

And Idrees you said you're not close with sham altho you seem to be in close contact and also believe he would confess to you if it were true. Thats the deffinition of contridiction.
That's how much of a good guy he is. We are not even that close but I still believe he would not lie to me. I have talked to him a couple of times since this whole situation has been going on.

Being good friends doesn't make them best mates like other people are saying though Ricky. And would you believe everything Akki says?

why would somone do all that work to get it through an mot, and then take it all off after wards????????

£1600 day job there mate. Someone with such a mind could do such a thing.

for example there was a doctor who saved many lives but every now and again somebody died because he couldnt be bothered to do his job properly. would u take action? of course you would! so saying oh but you bought this off sham and had no problems doesnt really mean anything. he has to be a gd trader ALL the time.

Toby is known as a top trader, but there is a few threads with complaints. Should he be banned from trading too? Just another example there.

Well, how do I sum all of this mayhem up?

It falls to me to call time on 51 pages, 1000+ replies and well over 57,000 views. I'll do it to the best of my ability and those of you who know me can be assured I'll retain the usual fashion.

-------------------

I do apologise for having so little input on the topic.

Everytime I looked into this it sickened me into using my energies elsewhere. Serious thanks go to the site staff for keeping things as controlled as they have. I have been busy concentrating on technical queries, part numbers and run of the mill questions.

The shocking, sinister discovery that your car is a not only a deathtrap but that the seller has misled you in the process is a fear amongst all car enthusiasts. The input from other forums, owners clubs and websites has shown we all share common fears.

It is a welcome change that this (epic) public pressure has helped Matt get his money back, it is a victory against the deceit and deception which I had hoped were not part of this forumboard. Guess my eyes have been opened a little wider.

I feel that the focus has moved off the actual facts somewhat, let's refresh:

1) A member has been sold a lemon by an ex-registered trader.
2) The lemon was not road legal despite having a valid MOT certificate.
3) Sham issued the MOT certificate on the vehicle.

As it currently stands, the results are as follows:

1) Owing to pressure from a rather large and baying internet mob, the seller has refunded the buyer.

Given the nature of previous reports and the evidence supplied from this case the seller has been banned indefinitely from TGTT. To do anything else would only condone his behaviour and compromise the safety of our members in the process.

This is not a decision we have taken lightly, in fact when his trading rights were revoked a while back (under a hail of criticism) I often wondered if we were right in our actions. It would appear so going on what I can see here.

I am disheartened by the whole situation. Akki was a longterm member and a once-respected trader. It makes no sense to me at all.

I don't like handing out bans but I see this is one for the good of the forum.

2) I am happy that VOSA has been informed and that progress has begun investigating the details of this vehicle. If anything suspicious is there they will find it and have the power to do something about it. Everything else is mere speculation.

3) Sham has offered background information on the vehicle's visit to his workplace.

I am satisfied that he has offered a plausible explanation for the conflicting conditions of the vehicle. I cannot taint someone's name based nothing more than gut feelings and unconfirmed speculation. It is fair to say that if there is anything to find VOSA will find it and act accordingly.

As chance would have it, his trading account expired on the 13th of this month and we have elected not to renew it. Due to work and time constraints Sham feels he will not be applying for renewal anyway.

This gives us the opportunity to remove his trading forum vai mutual agreement. I am happy to retain him as a regular member although I will ask him to refrain from trading in our classifieds sections as a precautionary measure.

He has been on this forum for a long time and I have always found him to be both friendly and helpful. I hope that he continues to contribute as he obviously has the respect of fellow owners.

Now there would appear to be some division amongst the ranks that I would like to address before we finish:

I have little interest in geography, genealogy or what deity you all follow. Nor does the next scammer, cowboy, highwayman or rip-off merchant you meet. I don't care if they are in Ballyhalbert or Balamory, we need to drop the territorial bullshit and get on with spotting them.

We will protect you but you are sometimes going to have to just trust us.

Be careful in all of your dealings or you may find yourself a starring role in SDCCWDM II!

As ever, kind regards.
