like your attitude Phil you seem pretty open about this stuff and comfortable with it. I always expect people to take offence when their religion is discussed and challenged but to get a version of what you believe in decent terms is welcomed.
thanks
On the evolution piece.. I think that to challenge the fact that evolved is just a step away from declaring the earth is flat. There is a pretty decent array of apes up to almost human missing just a couple of jumps but nothing that would make me question where we originated from.
so the small changes of appearence was evolution, a hunched back to a straighter back? no, i dont think so, the missing stages ruin evolution, where is the talking apes? where are the apes that feel naked? where are the apes that build complicated shelters or define things as their own? no.
as for the flat earth?
heres something you may already know, in Job God explained the watercycle, the catching up of water and i quote "He draws up the drops of water, which distill as rain to the streams; the clouds pour down their moisture and abundant showers fall on mankind" he also spoke of the earth being suspended on nothing and i quote "He sits enthroned above the sphere of the earth" and "he suspends the earth over nothing"
Also if we all orginated from one single man and woman... wouldnt that involve sleeping with your sister? surely that is condoned?
you meant surely that is not condoned>? but anyhow there was no law to break at that time the law wasnt given until years later.
I think the advances man has made in the past 100 years shows a huge leap in technology and thinking and is a perfect example of evolution.
in my opinion thats not evolution at all, thats just compound knowledge, if all our technology was taken from us could we recoup it inside a week>? a century? its just a textbook knowledge/technology build up.
as for a thought on mans thinking coupled with technology i think the perfect example is war, man hates losing/man hates dieing, so if theres a war technology therefore moves on that bit quicker than usual self preservation its been around for a long time, the basics of mans thinking' havent evoled or changed.
