well a td05 starlet is a different kettle of fish.

when my old starlet got tuned by ea, i came away feeling just as deflated. it never felt as quick at 1bar as it did before i rebuilt the engine. i was highly dissapointed, and cars i should have beat on the strip it just wouldnt, it wsnt slow, but as you say not what i would have expected.

i personally am not a fan of EA, i have said this and i have spoke to dave b about it aswell, yet loads of people have gone there and got theres tuned and seem relatively happy, it's really odd.

but with my new car i took it to somewhere else this time with a hybrid, and i left there saying wow this time, so i shall use them again.

it's all swings and roundabouts.

re

think ill take it down the strip tom. if its making 180 at wheels.gotto be making 205/210 hp? so what sort of terminals should i be expecting? maybe 99/100mph?

Sorry had to rotate it lol

Did you ask why the dip in the power and torque curve?. Its not making good linear power until 4500+RPM which seems a bit high. If the blip in the power wasn't there I would say it would feel a lot quicker. Always question these things, he could probably tell you exactly why ;)

if its fast on the road who cares, power figures arent everything.. take it to another dyno, surrey rolling roads dyno is very accurate, think its dynamatics. EA's dyno is pretty old skool so figures probably arent as accurate as others, but he seems to do a good tune which is the main thing. think he does map them on the rich side but thats all good as long as its not massively over fueling

re

u do notice the dip on the road.at 3k it comes in nicely and about 4.5k it has another power band..im not nocking his mapping. it feels smooth no jerking. just that little dip. thats all. i dont really wanna fork out 40/50quid for another power. all for what? + petrol driving down there ect..i would of talked more to him dave.but i only had 2 hrs sleep and was nackered. driving 200+ miles back home.. think tdi north is the closest to me for mapping the hks v-pro ecu.anyone heard if there gd?

29% sounds alot to me - 4wd lose that not 2wd, i dont know how the dyno can work out transmission losses - i dont think they can, i think you would have to find out off the manufacturer, hmmm i think big wheels helps fly horsepower but you lose torque, correct me by all means if i`m wrong just done a 12 hour shift so my heads a bit dizzy

I know dyno dynamics roller's have a mode which calculates the drivetrain loss's by using a coast down test to calculate the friction, however thats still not going to give a 100% accurate measure of the loss.

My loss on a dyno dynamics roller was 20% which is still a little high for a fwd.
I'd try finding a dyno dynamics roller as they're generally pretty accurate if your really bothered about the figures.;)

re

im not really fussed about figures as everyone says they dont mean nothing.but having driven more.i dont think it feels that quick. can anyone give me a rough idea what terminal speeds a should be getting on strip? surley thats gonna give me a indication?

Well, the problem is here is that it does not feel that quick. So terminal speeds may give you an idea. But yeah, figures are not everything, but obviously the HP plays a big part. So I'd still get it dynoed again to be honest.

prob cos he not that good a tuner, and rushes things lol

if he was worth his sorts he would have sorted that blip in the graph
