Target AFR

makes you wonder what the 550cc boys idle afrs are like :homer:

I've got 510's in my 1 litre, idle is around 11, they're far too large. I have some Lucas 420's to fit.

You're right the FPR won't help with AFR's on idle if you've increased the base pressure.

With a larger injector a minor change in opening duration will make a big difference especially on smaller engine that requires very little fuel on idle. If I reduce my idle mS values too the engine can stall very easily.

i believe base pressure is about the same if not slightly lower than stock now! my gauge has gone innacurate some some reason, reading half a bar with no pressure so i can't be 100% on what pressure i'm running, i know it's a good deal less than when i was running stock injectors, that was around 4 bar.

Yup, I use a Microtech LT8S in that car, don't even have an aftermarket FRP, there is no need to.

i use MS2 standalone on my 5e, with 480cc injectors no FPR
15 idle, 15-16 very light cruise, 14s with slight load, then 13s sweeping through 0 and about 12.3 at wot

Sounds like you have an ideal setup there ;)

nice setup...but LEAN tune! 13/12.5 coming on boost ok, but full boost wot - 12.3?

this is not a daily commute surely?

Fur knows what he's doing Phil. ;)

..... and how many people do you know that boost on WOT too and from work?

Ben :)

Used the drive home as a 30 mile fuel run tonight so the figures are sorta fresh in my head:

Warm idle = 16.1
Slow traffic = Not looking at gauge, looking at road!
Very light cruise (1,500rpm) = 15.2
Light cruise (3,000rpm/50mph/off boost) = 14.8~14.9
Cruise (4,000rpm/65mph/off boost) = 14.7 ~ 14.8
Building boost = 12.0~12.3
WOT = 11.7~11.8

I just fitted my stock manifold back on (hence fuelling run) and she's a little richer than she was with the SOS stainless mani.

With it fitted I was hitting 11.9/12.0 on WOT and the performance was much more potent. I wouldn't class this as 'safe' BTW. It only takes a bad fill of fuel to narrow the safety margin.

12 flat isn't pushing it with a near stock setup Jay. car can take that day in and out on average boost levels

with a proper intercooler there is no need for all the extra fuel for cooling

i should mention tho that my figures are with the water and methonol injection turned off
when on it makes the car alot more rich naturally but then i get to run a shitload more timing (+5 or so degrees) at the same boost :D.......and that is being conservative with zero det

It's about as far as I'd like to push the stock fuelling mate. I'm running a GT-spec CT9 hybrid at .9 bar at the minute and I kinda depend on the car for 60 miles a day. Been watching my AFR's like a hawk! :haha:

i know the feeling
whenever i am feeling suspect i datalog the car on the way to work and back home and then compare it to previous ones to make sure everything is on the up and up

if things look shakey, i make changes, standalone is the ultimate in freedom tho
an emanage will be forced to be near stoich in closed loop no matter what u do

one thing i have noticed is my gauge is making a high pitched squeel through my sound system. driving me insane!

had an idea to wire the gauge to my ebc's high/low boost switch so it comes on with high boost :)
