my experience was that i phoned up about a car they had, was told over the phone ''Its mint, its mint mate, its really mint bruv'' on more than one occasion. so i decided to take the 4 hour drive there.. They didnt tell me about the scratches on the wings, scuffed bumper, broken chassis welds, where it had obviously been involved in a crash. when i asked for a paperclip to do a diagnostics i was asked by the guy who owned it..''whats a diagnostics check, how do you do it''.
From then i knew that if you own an import company you should know how to perform a diagnostics check.
Then had alot around some of there other motors, which included an mr2 turbo, which had n/a clocks in it,(instead of boost gauge they have volt meter) when asked about it we were told ' your wrong, this is how it came from the factory''..obviously another car that had been fettled with...
All in all not a trip that really inspires confidence...

Urm...anyone that in the right mind should do a diagnostics check..If you dont know, it displays any errors that the ecu picks up...The fact that the people there didnt even know what a diag. check was makes me severly doubt their judgement when buying cars.lol who the hell starts doing a diagnostic check when looking at a car
Surely your talking about the ones that arent bent then?..........any 1 whos been to wrc sales am sure will no how good the standards there cars are thats why there more expensive

Fair enough, I wouldnt be right happy too, but again I wouldnt really trust even a private seller over the phone, because end of day no one is going to say anything bad about their car really, ya get me. If it looks nice on pics, just go see it and evaluate it for yourself
