cryo treating gears won't do a goddamn thing. i cryo treated my brand new gearbox, broke in a month, i cryo treated a friend's from malta who drag races his gt, broke too...

all in 3rd gear. i believe that the 4wd won't ever brake, unless you use drag radials, do a burnout and then launch on a dragstrip, but that 3rd gear will easily explode.

im not really into drag racing can you explain what drag radials are ?

are they slick tyres ?

I'd love a drive in yours. All you have to do now is finish it off with the rest of the drivetrain.(4wd)It would be a massive and expensive task but you know you want to.

definitely trevor,

i would love it 4WD, i think if i won the lotto that would have to be the first thing i would do. maybe one day :haha:

interesting topic

i think the rear diff is the weak point, the same as the gear boxes are.

gears are always a weak point
the point where the tuch each other there is created a hough amount of heat
also the point where the gear is connected to a shaft is weak, because it is not a one piece

the metals density is effecting the heat up process, you need a high density steal to reduce heat.

i know heat treatment is a way to dense steal, but freezing sounds more the less the same, only as far as i know it makes it more brittle.

make it strong enough to hold hugh power is a compromise between flexibility and strength.

i think upgrading the rear diff and checking the prop and drive shafts on purety will give you a greater change to survive the amount of force you will create.

forching a engine is the normalst thing around here, only upgrading gearboxes stops at putting a LSD in.
everybody knows a 6speed has it limits

there are not that much companies who rebuild and upgrade gearboxes or differentionals.

i was looking into rebuiling companies who upgrate gearboxes but they arn't easy to find, also as rebuld is far from cheap.

i no of a company that will make whateer you want but it's not cheap, going onto lsd etc and rear diff, it's very hard to no what will work, the ae86 rear axle does look very similar but will the lsd fit, u will never no untill it's stripped down and checked,
here's a few pics i had taken when i had my box apart
