Even better - I got the perfect car for this if you have the dyno. My auto still has both the stock ecu installed and the Sard ECU just lying in the footwell as a footrest (lazy bastard syndrome). 30 secs swaps them. All we do is do a back to back run with the same turbo, same intercooler, same exhaust, same actuator, same muppet at the wheel, and both runs will be inside minutes of each other..

im making 190.6bhp on a jam ecu with the standard turbo! i love my ecu its worth £650 to me all day long i dont have to pay for a costly remap! i can sell it on for the same as wot i paid for its super rare, hayes dynotech in erith couldn believe how good the ecu was? also he had glanza in pictured on their flyers and is a member of one of the starlet forums and he made 209bhp on a apexi power fc and had many more upgrades than my car inc turbo i think.

when i arrived they asked me wot i had done to the car and asked me to estimate a figure i said 180 and they laughed and told me bout the power fc glanza that only made 209. they were shocked and impressed with my results p&p ftw in my opinion

i was running a standard ecu with boost around .75 bar cause it was htting fuel cut, and instead of getting a fcd,fpr and sld, and dynod i got a jam ecu and set my boost to 1 bar it was the best purchase i ever got for the car it really pulled with the ct9 and around 5000 rpm gave a extra kick due to it advancing the timing!

yay :)

all the plug and play boys are logging on now lol

quick question then. iv never had anything to do with emanage. just wondering on an emanage will it remove fuel cut and speed limit? or do you need a mph converter, fcd and RRFPR to get around this. if thats the case then it will end up costing as much if not more for an Emanage and then the plug and plays wont seem as expensive in my eyes

food for though :)

Would be great to do that dyno comparison Jay. If we could put the printouts side by side it would make for interesting reading.

gt4 comparison
http://www.gtfours.co.uk/what/ecu/blitz/blitz_ecu.htm

worth every penny

----------------------

note that because the aftermarket ecu allows the boost to be increased more than the stock surely in a side by side comparison the boost should be increase on the aftermarket ecu :)
Let take a look at the stock afr on the gt4 it's in the 9s this looks to me becos the stock ecu has had the boost turned up and is over fueling to make it safe , so I don't think the gt4 is the best eg of this , I want 2 cars ner stock running stock boost ! That gt4 on the stock ecu must have been miss firing it's so rich

my mate bought a jam ecu for his glanza awhile back and wanted me to fit it.. he was running 1bar on a ct9 with fcd and rrfpr on standard ecu..(it was set up on a rolling road)..fair enough she was quick but i just felt she wasnt running right (growling and grinting)..i did a diagnostics test and and got 2 codes..AFS and turbo pressure.."sorry i just dont trust fcd's!!!!" i done some research before i fitted the ecu and took off fcd (obviously) and rrfpr and put back on stock fpr and slapped on jam ecu and set at 1bar and the difference was chalk and cheese really... the car boosted perfectly throughout the rev range and just felt sorted and you could sense it was breathing propperly.. he got it checked out again and they said the a/f readings were perfect through the rev range and only started leaning out near the red line.. sorry have no proff.. this was a few years ago.. as for price i think they are way over priced and i wouldnt pay more than 300euro for one..

I've ran lots of fcd set up and all work well tbh car drive as they should and I made 187hp on the stock turbo at 15psi. Clearly if u run more boost u will get more power ! What I'm saying is there on no way woth standalone money as that will change every about how ur car drives if the tunes good

Iv got a glanza with a sps mani, blitz Decat, front mount, full exhaust a blitz access and a hybrid at at .8 bar
I was very impressed with the torque and top end power was much better
sold the ecu last week:( straight away I noticed the difference between it and the standard ecu and other people have said it aswel
basically in south Ireland a plug and play ecu seems to be the best value on a ct9 as gettin an piggyback or standalone fitted wired etc is a serious ride
also a lot of mappers don't seem to know what there at at all

I think it would be unfair after this test to label all the plug and plays the same, as known they could be mapped for a variety of applications.

I.e if one plug and play crap then it's not to say they all do

It's near impossible to do real research on this unless a number of different type of ecus are used.
