Why does my car drink a lot?

little tip for long journeys! use super unleaded 97 ron, maybe half a tank tops before.. then go back to v power to top it up. You'll get an extra 40 miles or so out your tank. saves a bit on petty money!

    Boost leak I think!?

right on, cheers pal. I have checked the intercooler pipes and BOV, im going to check again :) but otherwise leaves me with it possibly being gaskets, or a crack.. im guessing as it only does it when hot it would need to expand. All fun and games eh.

    Boost leak I think!?

I have a loud whistling noise start when the car is fully warmed up and boosting.. Very annoying, randomly started.. Although, the day before I had put some wynns stop leak in the tank to try and temporarily fix a small leak. I'm guessing its a complete coincidence and I have a small crack or...

    THE never ending leak..

i know its so weird, nothing came out yet it was literally 2 litres over filled from putting 2.5 litres in (from presumably empty) when i did the level plug earlier. span me right out, was expecting to top it up tbh! thing is when I did the driveshaft seal i didnt drain it from the plug as its...

    THE never ending leak..

One more problem I just encountered, when i took the driveshaft seal off nothing came out at all so i presumed the box had leaked all contents out, and would need another 2L of oil.. so i did fully synth.. after 1 week (Just now) I managed to get the right sockets and took the level plug out...

    THE never ending leak..

Yer its dripping directly down where they meet, but from the very bottom of the g-box. Are crankshaft seals and rear main oil seals the same, or fit onto each other ? sorry not top mechanic! This cars a constant learning curve for me :) .. thanks for the help.

    THE never ending leak..

Its got to the point the amount of leaks i'm getting are becoming amusing. After sealing 5 different places on my gearbox, and changing driveshaft seals to stop tranny fluid leaking after a transmission rebuild... I now have engine oil dripping frequently from where the gearbox meets the engine...

    Unbelievably irritating leak!

Definitely tranny fluid, i know the taste of it by now! haha, sick of the stuff its been haunting me. Think that's my best option mate, clean her up, quick spin and track it best i can! Its surely flying out when the pressures high in the box so quick spin on a dry day should help me track it.

    Unbelievably irritating leak!

It had nothing in it when I took the seal out.. but it seems to be dry now, around the driveshaft its self which is weird. Most of the mess is on the gear box and splattered behind it. Thats what made me think it was something else maybe, and the fact it had recently been put back together?

    Unbelievably irritating leak!

Yer could be the same then. I'll double check but I think it might well be that. Did you replace the gasket then im guessing ? .. Im strung for cash atm might try and seal it best I can. Not sure if its a bad idea though!

    Unbelievably irritating leak!

I first noticed tranny fluid dripping from the bottom of the box after it had been rebuilt. I have changed the driveshaft seal (Passengers side) as I thought it was that but still the leak persists... Also when I took it off, there was no fluid left in it at all, after maybe 2-3 weeks of...

Tin alloy fuel catalyst and fuel magnets

I had some guy approach me today trying to sell me a tin alloy fuel catalyst. Claiming an improvement of 20% fuel economy increase, power and torque. All for just £50. Sounds to good to be true so I presumed it was. After a bit of research I have come across mixed reviews, mainly people claiming...
